101 Dalmations Disc Question
Hi G5SP - I've just joined this forum and I'm sorta new at this. I have the original 101 Dalmations DVD (R1) and it does not have a grey/silver inner ring. It has a full color image right to the hole - However, my original Lady and the Tramp (R1) does have a grey/silver inner ring. I know these are the originals as they were brought back when they were available. So, it is my guess that the disc with the grey/silver ring were first pressings. I believe your disc is real. I hope this answers your question.

The easiest way to tell if your disc is genuine is to:
1. Make sure it says Region 1-NTSC
2. Glide a finger on the artwork side of the disc-particularly on the left hand side where Pongo is sitting with two puppies, the lines on the dogs are raised slightly above the rest of the disc. This can be felt by your finger but is rather difficult to see.
Chances are if both these conditions exist, your disc is a legimate release.
Hope this helps
