With Boundin' did anyone get a "Silly Symphonie" vibe? It gave me a nostalgic feeling of the good ol' SS(not the nazi guards) days.

Not so much. Didn't most/all of the Silly Symphonies cartoon not have dialogue? Like I said in my review, it felt more Rankin/Bass-esque to me, and the Dr. Seuss comparison others have made feels on-target as well.

In any event, I liked it a lot, and even more in retrospect.

I still don't get Rankin/Bass feel, and it certainly doesn't remind me of any Silly Symphonies that I have seen. However, it has a lot of Dr. Seuss-like whimsy in it.

I wasn't referring to a particular silly symphony, just the SS in general.

Luke, the dialogue in Boundin' was song like, many SS had that, 3 little pigs, Noah's ark is also a good example.

Just saw "The Incredibles" for the fourth time yesterday. It gets better with each showing. I don't know what people are saying about something at the end of the movie, during the credits or after they have run......I never leave a theater until the lights are totally on and the curtain has come down.

"Boundin' " was a real hoot. I too felt a little nostalgic about the 'Silly Symphonies' as others did. But that being said, I loved it and I hope they keep it on the DVD when it is released.

I think Pixar has raised the bar on CGI, and they will have a hard time topping this one.

I heard that they may be interested in doing a 30-minute show for Disney Channel in 2005, is that a possiblity?

A show from Pixar would OWN!!!!

Comments? I thought that was interesting . . . Dash's quote ("saying everybody's special is just another way of saying no one is") was the one that stuck with me the most after the movie, and I thought this take on it was interesting.

Early on in the article, I found myself really pleased with the compliments they were giving the movie. And then, they say it...those words that brand it as a...

kiddie comedy

But then I read the rest of the article, and it made up for that one flub.

Then I read the comments, many from adults...which got me thinking...if people are thinking it's just a kiddie comedy, why the hell are adults analyzing its underlying themes of educational values?

Hey guys, did anyone notice that this is the first Pixar movie that didn't have John Ratzenberger provide a major voice? He just does the Underminer at the end, which is just one line.

It seems like Ratzenberger's been getting smaller parts following <i>Monsters, Inc.</i>. I'd have assumed a bigger role for him the way he hosted the behind-the-scenes vignettes for <i>Incredibles</i>.

My wife and I saw the movie Saturday night and I was very impressed with the movie. As a pastor I really liked the whole sticking together as a family theme that they did with this movie.

The adult in me loved the storyline and the values presented in the film, but the kid in me says, "this movie rocks!" I hope they do a sequel and I can't wait to get the DVD next spring/summer time.

I thought it was great! I took my daughters to see it last Friday. They loved it too. I thought it was the kind off movie that could have very easily been a live action movie that would appeal to grown-ups and the animation seemed to be just the technique they used to pull off the super powers. Very good, very cool.

I also liked the retro styling of it. At Pixar they do a good job of adopting a period style and sticking to it. I also like how they are able to make movies that appeal to adults without resorting to crude or suggestive humor (like Shrek).

Wow. I just got back from the movie. It was... Incr... oh, nevermind... sup?... no, that won't work either... AWESOME!!!!!!!!

It's been a long time since I've watched a movie and not wanted it to end. It was hilarious and thrilling! There were even a few emotional chords thrown in there, too.

Boundin' was funny, too, though it's probably my least favorite of the pre-Pixar shorts. That's not to say I didn't like it, though.

The Incredibles was awesome. Possibly Pixar's best and my favorite.

I thought the beginning was a tad bit slow but I guess all that about their present lives as average people had to be established and whatnot. Thankfully, when it picks up, it really picks up. I was laughing the entire way through. The characters were so endearing and there were several clever moments in the film. Also, Mirage's character design was drop-dead gorgeous. I was practically drooling over it (I mean a female CG character at that!).

I coulda done with that pre-feature short, though. It was cute but since I wanted to watch the feature film, it was just another obstacle in the way... just like that somewhat-annoying Cars trailer; it just didn't catch my interest at all.

I've seen the movie today in one of the greaster theater in Paris (called "Le Grand Rex") and I really liked the movie !
As usual, Pixar delivers us humor, great animation and action ! It roooocks ! Didn't get bored in the 2 hour movie and the action scenes are really new to the Pixar features at this level (I mean so much and so intense).

However, I gotta admit that I was a tiny little bit disapointed. You know when you hear about a movie so much and that we tell you that's wonderful you always imagine it,.... and then you end up being a little disapointed 'coz have thought it'd been better. I felt that a little.

I mean, this movie was so different of what we usually get from Pixar and I thought wasn't worthing Nemo. That were less funny and "creative-funny", I thought, less tribute to other movies and less references, which is why I found it less fun that Nemo.
My second critic is about the design of the human haracter. They're all really great but I don't really look real. I know it's on purpose but I don't know I was a little bothered by that. I mean, when you watch Shrek 2 for example, the human character really seem.... just soo real ! And here, even if Pixar entend to do so, I thought the characters could've been better.

That was my 2 crititcs but, hey, I still really liked the movie !

The other regret I have : in the theater, they didn't show the pre Pixar short film Boundin' !! I was really disapointed 'coz I heard so much 'bout it that I really'd have liked to see it ! Don't know iuf it's specific to the theater i went to or if France didn't get this short at all.....

And here's my Pixar fav listing ('coz even if I really love the mall, few stand out... ) :

I have never cared about superhero parodies, so I didn't expect much from this film. I actually went out of loyalty to PIXAR, because I have loved their previous work and decided to risk a wasted couple of hours.

However, PIXAR has done it again. My wife and I just got back to the first morning showing (10 AM) and we were superbly entertained. The movie had humor (as expected), drama (as expected), made us care about the characters (as expected), and set new standards in computer animation (as expected). What we didn't expect was how well PIXAR did all of this at the level far beyond what they had before. I've enjoyed every PIXAR film (and short), each for their own special contents.

The Incredibles ranks up there with all the PIXAR films, and I much look forward to the DVD release. I suspect that the short Boundin' will be on the DVD.

I'm so UP from the movie that I'm going to sit down and have a PIXAR film festival - watching all the films and shorts available on DVD and video so far. I think I'll start with the very first short and watch all in order of when they were released.

I know what you mean. I was a bit worried in the beginning that the hype of this movie had created some plateau in my mind about the film that it wouldn't be able to reach...

The first 15 minutes were, to be honest, a bit slow but I'm glad the pace picked up. In the end, I would say that it lived up to my expectations. It mighta been better than my expectations if I hadn't heard all those fantastic, raving reviews about it, though.
