Your Disney Story (Introductions Thread)
My name is John and I'm a bit new around this forums, since the only times I visited the site was to find out Disney dvd news and of course the great reviews that they have. I'm 15 years old, I'm a Lion King Fan, and I've been watching Disney Movie for as long as I remember. I used to love watching the Mickey Mouse scene in Fantasia, and The Little Mermaid (Don't laugh at me, I grew up with it and my parents bought it for both my sister and I), but then in 1994 my life changed, The Lion King came out and I immediately became so obssesed with it. I was just starting to like Aladdin but TLK came and since then it has been my fav. movie of all time. Even If I'm a bit too old to be watching Disney films, I still think they're for everyone, they weren't pointed out just for kids.... but to the rest of the general public.

Hey!
My name is Jennifer (or Jen if you like), and I'm a huge Disney fan! I've always enjoyed Disney films since I was a child, and I still do. My favorite of all of them is Beauty and the Beast. I mostly like the Classics, to me those were the very best of Disney.
Uhh, let's see. I'm a Graduated High School Student, I'm a Web and Graphics Designer and I own the domain www.white-wave.com and run many fansites, including ones for Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lord of the Rings.
I'm a Born Again Christian. I LOVE movies, enjoy listening to music and shopping, and talking to people on the internet.
For more about me and what I like you can check my profile, or visit my domain.
Guess that's it. I look forward to talking with you all!

Hi, and this is my Disney story.
I have been a fan for the longest of years and it all started with a few fair princesses- Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and of course Ariel. The first film I ever saw in the theatres was that of Beauty and the Beast. I was barely 1 year old and loved it, but was sort of scared of the Beast. That was the one that introduced me to Disney. The second film- enrapped me. My second film ever to see in the theatres was the 1993 re-release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I was 3 years old and absolutley entralled with the whole concept. The next year, I got my second video tape- Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! I watched that movie so many times, that right now, I can barely even see the picture. My first video however was Cinderella. The beautiful story is still my second favorite Disney movie and I cannot wait until October 2005
! In the next few years, I would go over my Grammy's house and watch tons of Disney videos including Sleeping Beauty. I loved the music, the romance, the action, and the Villain
, but unfortunatley was never able to buy the Video, but I do have the DVD!! Finally, my favorite Disney movie of all time has a lovely little mermaid named Ariel. 1989 was to far ahead of my time to see The Little Mermaid in its original release, but 1997 brought the re-release and how wonderful was that. Before 1997 I had watched my mom's friend Louise's tape for years and finally saw it in the big screen. Then in 1998, I got it on tape! And that is my Disney story.

Thanks much Wonderlicious, and that earns you a courtesy point of you in my bookWonderlicious wrote:I know you've been around here so I'm not going to say hi. It annoyed me when I posted my Disney story whilst having "Gold Collection" status and people were saying "Welcome Wonderlicious". Anyway, nice little Disney tale!

Well I guess it is time to introduce myself to this forum. My name Bill and I go by the name of DVDJunkie because of the size of my DVD collection. Not only do I collect Disney and Disney-related movies, but I also have a lot of other favorite types of movie that I collect.
I used to work at Disneyland in Anahiem, CA as a projectionist in the Fantasyland Movie Theater. I got to show all those cool Disney shorts that I reading about here. Some of my favorites are "Three Little Pigs", "Little Toot", "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride", and all the Mickey Mouse cartoons that I could have the privilege to show.
I have all the Disney animated films including those not released yet here in the US. I bought all of my Disney films on DVD at one time from a dealer in Thailand. So I have "Cinderella", "Bambi" and all of the others that haven't seen the light of day here in the US on DVD.
I currently live in Wichita, Kansas, and am the father of a son and twin daughter, and the grandfather of six. They keep me busy and also keep me young. I am semi-retired am just learning about a computer. I bought my first one about a year ago. I work at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Wichita as a shuttle driver where I make on the average about $75 a day in tips. This is how I have accrued such a large DVD collection (in excess of 1600 at this point and counting). I have a very nice Home Theater system that consists of a 56" JVC Digital HDTV Monitor, a JVC 6.1 Dolby Digital Surround System, 13 speakers, including two sub-woofers, a Phillips DVD Recorder/Player as well as a Sony DVD player, I am hooked up to Cox Communications for my High Speed Internet and my Digital Cable with a DVR. I have a Star Popcorn Popper that I bought from a theater that was closing, and also bought their Hot Dog and Super Pretzel rotisseries, and then I have a Maytag Skybox for keeping the beverages cold. I have two rows of Stadium seating with four seats in each row, four bean bag chairs, and two recliners (for the king and queen of the house). I tell people that what ticket they buy determines what seat they get........lol. My Home Theater has a name..........it's "A Theater Near You".............you know those commercials that say coming soon to a theater near you..............I have fun with that.
Well that's about all there is from me, I hope to be a good contributor to this site and you can scan my DVD collection at the site listed below. I am still posting DVD's and doing the job of rating and reviewing each one. I just finished entering the collection a couple of days ago. Feel free to let me know what you think and ask questions at will. I am really a nice guy and my grandkids all say that I am a big old teddy bear.

I remember going to see a Snow White re-release in the early 80's, but the 1988 film Oliver and Company really started my love for Disney. It's not my favorite movie, but I have so many happy memories of the time. Collecting the Musical Christmas Ornaments from McDonald's, going to The Disney Store for the first time, and being in D-LAND overwhelmed with joy. Later, I would love the Broadway style movies made in the 90's. Most of the other teens thought I was too old to still be enjoying it. 14 year olds can be so creul. I found out later I was right all along. When I was Senior in High School, I met a group of people that shared my same views. The Cast Members at the DISNEY STORE. I've been with them now for 4 years, and I don't plan on leaving any time soon. As I go to school and finish my degree in Early Childhood Edu. I will still be there. And when I become an elem. teacher, I will still devote some of my time to the company and friends I love so much. Even if we belong to the Children's Place.

Hi, my name is Kevin and I am 20 years old and live in melbourne, Australia. My first Disney movie was Aladdin, I fell in love with this movie and when it came out on video I simply had to have a copy. In fact this was the first video that my parents had bought me, probably the first video that was bought, as prior to this we just borrowed videos from the local video store. I watched that video easily 50 times (probably more). It had ads for a few other classics, Jungle Book, Aristocats and Mary Poppins. Though I did not pressure my folks to buy any of these 4 me. My second fav is Lilo and Stitch, that is the greatest story ever. I now have a small collection of DVD's, I got the DVD version of Aladdin recently, and wow I have watched the movie three times since, and each time I find it interesting and enjoyable. I hope to be able to catch up with some earlier Disney movies, but have enjoyed Mulan, Tarzan, Emperor's new Groove and Brother Bear.
That's it!
That's it!

Hello! My name is Derek and I turned 30 today. My passion for Disney started as a kid at Disneyland. My mother was a school teacher and had summer off and my father was working for the airlines, so we always went to Disneyland. Things have really changed there. The last time I was there was in 2001. As an adult it seemed to have lost alot of it's magic. I guess it's because I'm an older and taller? Was sad to see alot of my favorite rides were gone: People mover, Submarines, Bear country, Captain EO, Sky rides, and that ride that shrinks you down to a micro! Star tours took it's place. I've heard Space mountain is being remodeled and that the subs are undergoing treatment? That would be nice. Anyway I truly miss the 80's. Live seemed more genuine. So did Disney. My only son is turning 2 years old and we are going there in febuary 2005. I know he's not going to remember much of it this time around, but just seeing him in the Magic Kingdom for the first time will hopfully relight a spark for me. I love Disney movies also, always have. I've been collecting Disney dvd's for about 2 years now, too many to list! The first movie I remember seeing at the theater was hmmm, The Fox and the Hound and Peter Pan. Overall I love all Disney classics and Pixar films. I'm a newbie to this site, but I love reading everyone posts and topics. Hope you've enjoyed my Disney history!
