Pixar's Return to Disney a Possibility?

Comingsoon.net says that Pixar may still renew their contract with Disney, or they might instead go to Warner Bros or 20th Century Fox. Read more about it here.

Wouldn't it be cool if they expanded, made two movies a year (same quality) and became independent?? Never gonna happen' I know.

Why Not? I mean Pixar has enough money now where they dont need anyone to finance their films for them. All they need is someone to distribute it. They could do what Walt did when he couldn't find a decent distribution partner and expand to do it themselves. Since Pixar is becoming a widely rec ognized brand on its own it shouldn't be too hard to get theaters to carry itheir films without a major studio attached. (although I will miss seeing the CG Sleeping Beauty castle at the beginning of every Pixar movie

I can't see Fox picking up Pixar. After all, they own Blue Sky and Pixar would be seen as a competitor. And then, there would be "issues" about release windows for each company's films.

^^ Awww, I hope so . . . they can be like . . . an cousin of Disney that moved out of the country. Or a former co-worker with whom Disney is still on good terms. Or something like that.

I hope so too since Pixar makes better Disney films than Disney does these days.

I'll take one movie every two years if it means better quality. Soon the CGI novilty would ware off and Pixar would have to create stronger stories, not rely of technology. Two Pixar films a year would be great, but soon it would become a sort-of factory, pumping out moderate movies, with ok plots,and standard characters. It would lose it's unique qualities, and be lost.

I 100% agree! Although I must admit He did a lot of good in the 80's. But when Frank Wells died, Micheal had no one to keep him in check.

I agree, back in the 80's he was an asset to WDFA, he really helped Disney to struggle out of the dark period, but now the Disney board has become money mad! Eisner has been ther for 20+ years and they need some new fresh ideas. They need someone back at the top who is good and cares, like Jeffrey Katzenberger, Thomas Schuhmacher, Roy E Disney etc.

I personally would prefer having at most one Pixar a year, so then we have something to look forward to. I remember seeing the preview for the Incredibles before I even saw Finding Nemo, and thinking "Fall 2004" sounded so far away...although I think it said Thanksgiving.

As long as the quality is at Pixar standards I wouldnt mind ten films a year or one film every ten years. I think its a mistake to say that putting out more than one film a year would be a bad idea because it would no longer be an "event". the frequency of the films has been linked to the failure of Disney's 2-D animation before when it really was the quality. No one says that a studio should only put out one live action film a year so that that film will be seen as an "event". When the same care for creativity and story is there, it doesnt matter if a studios films are realeased a year apart or a week apart.

Actually folks WE as the movie going/DVD buying public are in a Win-Win situation here. What do we care who they hook up with as long as the product stays the same?

I would only say that in a way I hope they DON'T go back with Disney for the reason that it would force Disney to up the ante on their own product - which would also be better for us. Because let's face it, without Pixar it seems like their only box office hit for the past two years would have been "Pirates of the Caribbean," or did I miss one?

This is not possible, because Disney have anounced than it´s working on the third part of Toy Story.

Also than they´re doing an 3D animation studio near the one of Dreamworks

Man I can hope Pixar and Disney patch things up at some point down the road it would be a shame to end things so bitterly. And honestley I cant see Pixar with another company becasue like someone else mentioned almost every other movie company as its own version of Computer animation. Unless they break out on thier own well at least thats what I keep telling myself for hope lol
