I think it is out now in most parts of Europe, at least here in Scandinavia.
I haven`t got it yet, but I will get it next week, along with Mulan.
So has anyone picked it up yet?
What is your thoughts about it?
I think it's one of the best sequels out there. The Disney Toon Studios have really done a great job with this one! There is a lot of heart and humor in it and Mark Moseley does a great job with Mushu's voice (You really can't tell the difference between him and Eddie Murphy, Mushu in Mulan 2 even has Eddie Murphy's humor ).
I love it, and I hope everyone will watch this sequel as open-minded as I did.
i saw it.its one of the best sequels but it can never b forgiven that its a lousy movie still.the humor was good.the chinese element is more this time.the music is ok.but they totally destroyed shang's dignified character.pretty much the way they ruined pocahontas n john smith's love affair in the follow up movie.
I actually thought Shang was even more boring in Mulan II... Or should I say "dignified". Maybe the scene where Shang is shouting at Mulan (after Mushu's actions) was a bit much But other than that, I thought he was fine.
In that shouting scene, yes. Overall he's one of the best animated characters in the movie. Only Mulan was horribly animated in some parts in the movie like in the "Lesson Number One" song and before that.
I have to say that whilst I was watching this I literally had my jaw on the ground! The animation is top notch in terms of DTV. The story is reallly well thought out, much more solid than the standard sequel. The movie has many scenes which are fantastic, adn though I don't have time to go in depth, there is one scene, (I won't tell you waht happens and spoil it, for those of you reading who don't know) that quite literally amazed me! I took a screen cap from this scene, which is now my avatar (see left). The trailer to this film, doesn't really do it justice in my opinion.
One thing which I am slighlty confused about, is I was lead to believe this film was being made in Australia, however about 95% of the names in the credits are japanese
No, I don't think it was made in Austraila. They had Lion King 1 1/2, Three Musketeers recently and (reportedly have) Lilo and Stitch II now.
I guess, being as the Tokyo facility is "shuttered" after Heffalump Movie, this is either from before then (remember it was on some European lists for March 2004 briefly) or it is from a non-Disney studio contracted out.
I bought the box set on monday. I actually enjoyed Mulan 2!
It's no way as good as the original (they never are) but the story is fresh and The comedy brilliant I actually laughed out loud in so many parts and some action sequences are amazing especially the part on the bridge (anyone who has seen the movie knows what im talking about) I nearly shed a tear at how emotional it gets.
The i love the 3 princesses distinctive personalities. ting ting, su and mai,
not sure about their song ' i wanna be like other girls' It starts of really well as a beautiful balad then kinda goes into a crazy pop song. The 3 men sing 'a girl worth fighting for' again! and the song mulan sings at the start aint all that. and them kids get annoying real quickly
pretty much all characters are back, grandma fa, fa li, fha zho, little brother, khan, the ancestors even the matchmaker makes an appearance the only person missing is the emporers advisor, chi fu.
The person who did mushu's voice did a brillaint job I can't tell the difference at all!!! and is way too funny for a DTV!
The animation is amazing all characters are on model pretty much all the time (apart from ling who just seems different to me)
I do think they should have kept the orignal opening battle sequence as seen in the deleted scenes to bring more fighting action into the movie which I feel the movie lacks especally at the ending when u expect a big showdown. On another bad note the good sequnces go by really quickly...needs more Kung Fu action!
OK it's not epic or too amazing but is a sweet movie and a worthy continuation any Mulan fan will love
