Sorry guys. I was just trying to be specific on which film I was talking about. There would have been a lot less confusion over the years if one geek named George Lucas decided not to begin a story with the subtitle "Episode IV." Yet at the same time, it was very creative to start a movie in the middle of a story, thus giving it immediate history. Confusing, but creative nonetheless.

Plus it did have the subtitle "A New Hope" by its re-release before Empire Strikes Back came out. It wasn't present during its first initial release in May, 1977.

Well, I heard that Lucas is not even going to release the Special Edition on DVD - no, it won't be the original either. It seems that they are filming more scenes for the original trilogy to add for the DVD/theatrical re-release (?) So, just imagine, Greedo shoots first, Padme shows up in Episode VI as a ghost, Bail Organa is show in Episode IV on Alderaan before the Death Star blows him up, the Emperor in Episode IV.... Maybe Jar Jar will be on Alderaan when it blows? Sorry to any Jar Jar fans, I like him, but that would be funny.

I'm not buying Star Wars until ALL six movies are in a DVD pack ... better start saving my money...

While it is true that they aren't going to release the 1997 Special Editions on DVD, Padme is not going to be added and I don't think he would add Jar Jar either. I don't expect them to add the Emperor to the original, BUT they could replace the hologram of him in Empire Strikes Back with Ian McDiarmid, the actor who played him in all the other movies.

I expect more special effects upgrades and changes as this will be the final version of the films. I think that some of the SE effects will be changed or upgraded, like Jabba in A New Hope; I believe he will be upgraded to look better and to better resemble the one in Jedi and Episode One. I'd like to see all the English writing that appears in A New Hope to be replaced Aurebesh, the language that appears in the other films. Hopefully the Greedo addition will be changed back! My favorite addition was the ending of Return of the Jedi ... the extra shots of the planets celebrating was very cool and I loved the music! It was much better than the Ewok song.

I still think they'll put in Padme, just for continuity's sake. I think that's how you spell it. Anyway, I would like a box set of Star Wars, but then I realized it would probably be 12 discs in all! I don't know if I have enough money for that

Rick McCallum said in the last issue of the magazine that there are no plans to put her into the original trilogy. She is also not a Jedi, so she most likely would be unable to appear in SW as a spirit.

Sure he's changed his mind, everyone does from time to time. Point is is that Padme is not a Jedi and cannot return in spirit form as far as we know. In fact, during the time of the prequels NO Jedi can return in spirit form as they are considered to be 'one with the Force.' This was why it was odd that Yoda heard the voice of Qui Gon Jinn when Anakin went nuts on Tatooine in Episode II. That was the first case of a Jedi retaining his 'self' after death. Now Anakin returned in spirit form in Return of the Jedi with the help of Yoda and Obi Wan, then Luke could see that all was well with his father.

Wow! That reply took a month, you obviously put a lot of thought into whether purchasing them or not. If you would have picked up Episode II the first day, you could have gotten it for $9.99, oh well.

I know, it did take a LOT of thought... had to fight myself to figure that out. It was kind of a pain, really want to, but then what if ANOTHER Special Edition came out that I'd have to have??? So I decided against it.

The voice is in the movie itself. Go to where Anakin wacks the heads off of the Sand People in the desert. (Chapter 32) After Ani is done going crazy on them, it cuts to Yoda meditating in the Old Folk's Home section of the Jedi Temple. You can very clearly hear Qui Gon Jinn yell "Anakin, Anakin! Nooooo!" as the camera pans into the room with Yoda in it. It is approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes into the movie. Mace Windu then walks in and asks "What is it?" Yoda says "Pain, suffering, death I feel." They never mention the actual event in the film, the voice was just subtly put in there but believe me, it is significant to the overall story.
