Dang, I missed doing an Incredibles thread! Guess I'll wait till Cars... Anyways, I myself am quite looking forward to seeing what Mickey and gang look like in 3D. That's basically all I am looking forward to in this DTV. Probably get it later, around December or we might rent it, who knows; basically it's not up there on my list.

Today's the day, so maybe we should start reviewing... of course, I haven't picked it up yet.

well i just saw the trailer on the mulan se and i don't think i'd like it...
in my opinion, mickey and co just don't look right in 3d-animation, at least not in this feature. and then, of course, i have in mind that it's probably just another weak attempt in getting money out of everyones pockets with the old christmas-trick.
but i wouldn't mind to be proven wrong here!
go ahead and give us reviews!

Amen, MMB!!! The CGI is horrible, the plot looks awful, this is a must pass for me.

Well, we just rented it after passing on the purchase. I really loved the way the cover stood out, nice and christmas-sy, from all the other new releases.

The CGI is pretty good. It certainly ain't even Toy Story, well maybe, but definitely not like anything were used to from either Pixar or Dreamworks or Blue Sky Studios. Definitely better animation than Care Bears or any of those other "kid's favourites" now in 3D. The characters had somewhat of a texture; most visible on Pluto. They all seemed the same and showed somewhat more expression/detail than in the original Mickey's X-Mas movie.

I liked how every so often the film would show Mickey and gang in 2D again, it's nice having a little variety. The stories were simple but effective. The also enjoyed the "in-jokes" apparent sometimes; like when Mickey sees the hgue mess and says "I'd have to be a Sorceror to clean this up", or just using the Hippos and Alligators from Fantasia in the skating sequence.

Overall, its a nice, fun little DTV and I would recommend it. It also makes a good stocking stuffer...

Just rented it, and let me say this...

PURE MAGIC!

Sure it's not in 2D, but the CGI was good! I knew that this film would get better every day, and it looks like it really did! I really loved the music, in-jokes, and the plot was really nice! This, so far, is the best DTV movie I've seen.

Great job, Disney, but be careful about the future CGI movies.

When I actually have a few dollars to rent this, I'll gladly do so. Though if anyone around here couldn't tell yet, I'm not the most easy-to-please kind of person - especially when it comes to pap like this. e_e

Well, there were also reports from people that post on a Disney fan forum that happened to be negative. I didn't even point out that the ones from people who had actually seen it were positive. All I said was, "Finally we are getting reports from people who have actually seen it." Bias doesn't mean much since people seem very free to say all the time what it is about Disney they don't like and what Disney movies they don't like. I never even really said if I liked it or not except to say that it'd at least make a decent rental. Don't worry, I don't stand to lose anything if you don't purchase it so I'm not trying to trick anybody into thinking it's better than it is.

Gonna buy it today for Kram (there's a discount at Cocunuts, so after the rebate, I'll have paid only $12.99 for it). I'll post my thoughts either tonight or tomorrow.

Picked it up for $14.99. I figured it would be entertaining enough to warrent a blind buy, as all the Mickey productions have been. Plus, I was anxious to see the characters get a CG makeover.

The movie itself was nothing earth-shattering, but pretty enjoyable all the way through. The stories were probably a little too tame, and should've been replaced with more extravagant tales (see the "Cookie Mystery" or whatever in the Deleted Scenes sction).

My favorite one was "Donald's Gift", which was the only one that actually made me laugh, as Donald ran through the mall hearing the Christmas song everywhere. "Mickey's Doggone Christmas" was the best written I think, with some good dialogue coming from the reindeer. "Belles on Ice" seemed like a "look what we can do" type of thing to introduce the movie, but it was also neat to watch. The other two didn't stand out much, but were entertaining.

As for the actual animation, it surpassed my expectations somewhat. I thought they did a good job with most of it, with Donald and the ducks looking the best in their CGI form. Goofy's animation seemed uncompleted, he didn't seem to have as much expression as the other characters. Mickey & Minnie are the ones that don't do to well in this medium - primarily because they were designed with very simple shapes in mind, and their design pretty much requires traditional animation to be true to their design concept. It felt really weird seeing a profile view of Mickey, and only seeing one ear. You may not pay attention to that when watching his previous cartoons, but in this one, you notice.

As Luke brought out in his review, the new animation medium is really the drawing point, as the material is nothing special. I think they did a fairly good job with the film. It's generic stuff, but its entertaining enough.

I just pick up Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas my thoughts were it was okay wasn't to good or to cheap. Overall I enjoyed the film thought it was better then Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas.
All the main characters brought Christmas to my heart early but what happen to Chip and Dale? I'm just wondering since they usually come out.

I thought it was a beautiful movie visually especially Minnie Mouse. The movie was good. It was not Disney's best movie but I am definitely glad I bought it.

I also wish they would have included Chip and Dale in the movie.

I just blew off Physics homework tonight since my wonderful brother Escapay brought home Mickey's Upon Twice a Christmas (lol) for my birthday! Yay!

I have to say that I was a tiny bit nervous to see our beloved Disney characters in CGI, but I was very pleased with MTUaC! The stories were fresh and new and very enjoyable! They also had some pretty funny moments (e.g. paraphrased...Mickey "I'm glad I took this short cut!" CRASH "Well, at least not much is broken" CRASH!)! I loved all the segments, but probably Christmas: Impossible best. Though they made Huey, Dewey, and Louie pretty awful little monsters! Though in the end they learned the right lesson.

The animation was great for CGI and at some points the characters seemed like Claymation...They did lose a little bit of their original charm since they were so 3 dimensional, but it didn't hurt the movie at all. I'm glad I got this movie and I hope more ppl watch it even tho it is MIckey and Co. in CGI. It was another great Disney movie and also a great Holiday movie!

One thing that did bother me was that the Goofy segment seemed too short.

My favorite short would definitely have to be Donald's Gift. I especially loved this part:

I agree that it was a bit jarring to see them in CGI, but with CGI, they were able to do so many different things that would be really hard to animate in 2D (like the big popcorn explosions on Christmas Maximus, and the entire Belles on Ice short). I found Huey, Dewey, and Louie a bit jarring at times in Christmas: Impossible. Sometimes they looked like their cute little duck selves, and other times it looked like a white ball with a beak and eyes...

The interstitials were great, but I have to say I wish they brought back Kelsey Grammar for the narrator.

And where's Pete and Chip 'n' Dale???

IMO, they should have included some of the deleted scenes, as the movie was too short (of course, it's just a bunch of shorts). That Cookie Mystery thing looked good, maybe they'll carry it over to Thrice Upon A Christmas (or if Thrice is too weird a word for peeps, Three Times Upon A Christmas). And what comes after Thrice?

On a scale of 1-10, here's how I rank the shorts:

Belles on Ice 7/10
Christmas: Impossible 6.5/10
Christmas Maximus 4/10 (very disappointing, too short, too much song)
Donald's Gift 9/10
Mickey's Dog-Gone Christmas 8/10
