Forget about the cover! I just don't like this "trend" of doing "Enthusiast" discs and "Family Friendly" discs.
For one thing - there's no reason why Enthusiast features can't be Family Friendly (and vice versa). Splitting them off onto two discs is just encouraging people to totally ignore one of the discs. ("Widescreen - what do I want to watch a movie with black bars for?"). It's not going to convince the doubters that there's actually a lot of merit in the Disney 2 disc releases - and therefore will add weight to Disney's argument that 2 disc sets aren't popular and most people would prefer 1 disc releases!
Secondly, I personally would much rather have all the non-film essential special features on the second disc. I'd rather sit down for a good few hours and explore all the supplements together.
While I think much of the second disc looks like "fluff" I'm not against that as it is important to have something for the young children. However read through the second disc's contents and you'll see that absolutely nothing on it relates to the making of Nemo, or the Nemo film specifically (I guess the "Pixar Animation Studios Tour" will be sort of generalised). So in short I feel splitting the contents onto 2 discs gives an excuse to cut down on the actual film related special features, while upping the non-film related special features for the children. The children's section of the Monsters, Inc. disc was quite small in comparison to the listing for the second Nemo disc.
I just feel that all of this is a concequence of having to have the DVD out as soon as possible. I'm sure all of the second discs supplements were "in the can" before work on the actual movie was anywhere near finished. I'm sure this approach was decided in order to speed up the production of the DVD for an early release.
The sad thing is, most of the people on this board seem to think getting the film out NOW! is more important than waiting and recieving a good, balanced release later.
I may be coming down on this release too much, but for me, reading the specs this doesn't feel like a 2 disc Disney collectors set. More like a 1 disc "Treasure Planet" disc, with more content for children. I suppose it just depends on how lenghty and deep the documentary on disc 1 is.
