Favourite Package Feature
Just wondering what everyone's favourite post-war "package feature" is. I really like Fun and Fancy Free, but I also like Make Mine Music. I've never seen Ichabod and Mr. Toad, but I love the two segments.
I really can't decide.

That's to bad. Ich&Toad rank high above them all I believe. And if by "package feature" you mean a film with more than one story, just a friendly reminder that Saludos and Caballeros were more like documentaries than package features. Still this is a good poll for Disney's flops. Besides the wonderful Ich&Toad, I realize that each of the package features have a piece of entertainment, but I don't find them that great as a whole. I voted for The Three Caballeros, simply because it brings out great Donald humor and plays ou like a long short, which makes it more entertaining than the others as a whole.
What would this wretched world be like without Disney?
It will let you add (several) more poll options. You just have to add a new option after adding it, which you can leave blank.
I'll add Ichabod, which I put several notches ahead of the two anthology features I've seen (Saludos and Caballeros). I view Ichabod more as a return to top form and less as one of these, even if it is two half-films.

Fun and Fancy Free. Ichabod and Mr. Toad comes in as a close second though.

No way for me to do it, short of deleting the poll and having everyone vote again, and even that might not work right.Sulley wrote:AARRRGH!Is there away I can re-vote?!?!? The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad is by far the best, but it wasn't on the poll when I voted.
But I'll keep in mind you wanted to vote for Ichabod.

I picked "Caballeros". I think it's a very entertaining film and a wonderful showcase of the greatests animation technics the studio attempted to do at that time.
My least favorite of them all is "Fun and Fancy Free". The "Mickey And The Beanstalk" segment is great, but I don't like the narration with the puppets, and the "Bongo" segment is too "fluffy"!
I also deslike the fact that this films aren't treated as they should, as "features"! Yes, they may be collections of shorts and featurettes, but they were created for their correspondent films, they didn't just get some cartoons and released them as a feature, as with "Winnie The Pooh". "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000" are package films too, but people say they are features, and I don't see a reason for the 40s features to be any different.
And the fact that Disney ignores that anything was produced after 'Bambi" until "Cinderella" also s****!

It wouldn't be fair for me to vote either.
In fact, the only Disney animated features I HAVEN'T seen are the package features. Except for Ichabod and Fun and Fancy Free.
I have, however, just ordered Melody Time from the UK, so I can judge better in a few weeks.
Out of the two I've seen Ichabod is by far my favourite.
Unfortunately, it is the package features that have received the most editing, and thus I will refuse to pick up the DVDs until this is corrected.
Maybe I will never see them all...

Actualy it is "Os Quindins de Yaya" (Iaiá, in Portuguese). Just to let you know that....MickeyMouseboy wrote:Three Caballeros!!! Have you even been to Baia Donald? BaiA?? what's BAia? oh Donald! hehehehehe i love it! Os Quindines De yaya i like that song too
And I agree with Chernabog, "Aquarela do Brasil" is breathtaking (I know I'm a bit suspicious to say it,
Yeah, "Bungle Bee" (Melody Time) is a great segment too! It would be a nice adition to "Fantasia" (just imagine the bee flying in stereophonic sound, as Walt wanted to do!).
