Infinifilm/DVD care
Well, I am going to start off with my DVD care question.
Two things happened to my Final Destination DVD today. First, I have a 5 disc changer, the kind with 5 different doors, and as I was trying to put in my DVD the door started to close with the DVD only half way in... Then as I tried to reopen a door, it locked and another drive with a cd was activated, and I eventually had to pull open the dvd door, not good, I know, It didn't seem to cause the DVD any visible damage though... Anyway, then upon taking it out and putting it back in the case, my dumb arse got greasy finger prints all over one side of it, it's one of those dubble sided ones. Then I tried to clean it off. I don't have anything supper soft, like cd/dvd wipes or eye glass cloth, so I used the softest shirt I could find, and wiped inward to outward to get the greasy fingerprints off, which I were afaid might have been very damaging if it got absorbed into the DVD or something, and I wound up scratching up the DVD! Argggh, this was not my day! It is almost as if some force were trying to do my DVD in... "Death?"... Then, not that this was damaging to the disc, but when I was taking it out of it's packaging the tape left ressidue all over the case...YUCK!
Any way, my question is, you don't think any of the things I told you, will effect the way it plays, quality or anything do you?
(I guess I should take a trip to Suncoast and buy some DVD wipes...)
My next question is what you all think of infinifilm dvd's? I have only gone over some of the features so far... I started to check out the fact track, and I think it is cool, but I think there are quite a few things it doesn't point oput that it should....
and I had another quam, but that has more to do with the movie itself. But besides those two things, I think it is pretty cool... Although it seemed like a good collector's edition, just with a different format. Ihope if this is a success, that they redo the first one...
Oh, and another question, you don't think pulling the door open, will cause trouble with the player do you? I kinda forced it open, but I didn't know what else to do, it wasn't opening and my mom was yelling at me from the next room which wasn't really helping...
Also does anyone know if the features are suppose to be different on the seperate sides or if they are the same?
(My guess would be the same but I am too lazy to look)

I'm pretty sure the features are the same.
I'm afraid I don't know much about the door thing, but I would just test it with a DVD and if it works, it works. I'm a fan of the original movie. Is Final Destination 2 worth seeing? I think I'm going to rent it.

What would this wretched world be like without Disney?

You scratched it with the shirt? That's bizarre. Well, unless ther are deep grooves I doubt you'll have much of an issue. And if you do, spread a touch of toothpaste on the disc and watch those scratches disappear
As for the Infinifilm Discs, I only own one: Thirteen Days
Not a bad collection of extras, but it was never one that blew me away with its content.

I have a 601 disc[!] autochanger and it's impossible to get the 2 sided discs out without a small finger/thumbprint on one of the sides.Prince Phillip wrote:Well, I am going to start off with my DVD care question.

(I have two Pioneer F727's networked together. I could do with another two, but sadly only 2 can be networked.) They've both been modded internally to play multi-region. They do not come multi-region out of the box or via a handset hack.

I've never had any trouble cleaning the discs myself. I just use tissues and breathing on the disc to moisten it. As long as you wide from inside to out in straightlines you should be OK. Small scratches look unslightly, but 99 times out of 100 do not affect the playback.Prince Phillip wrote:Any way, my question is, you don't think any of the things I told you, will effect the way it plays, quality or anything do you?

Getting a lot of discs imported from America, I often get discs loose in the case and they get scratched all sorts of ways to all sorts of extents. So far only one has resulted in a playing defect.
I have the FD2 disc, but not opened it yet. If it is like previous duel format Infinifilm releases the P&S side is single-layered and does not have most of the infinifilm features available (but will have the commentary for example). I doubt the P&S side will have the DTS track too.Prince Phillip wrote:Also does anyone know if the features are suppose to be different on the seperate sides or if they are the same?

Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I strongly disagree. The first one was definitely a winner, and the sequel could have been worse, but I wasn't happy with the gore overkill. It pretty much lacked the brains of the first film and was JUST death scenes. Plus I really didn't like the ending and how they wrote off Alex.Prince Phillip wrote:Sulley, FD2 is a hundred times better, but the very end, kinda ends in an awkward way... I think they should have used different music... Any way, you must see this!!!
While it really depends on what you liked from the first film. If you liked the concept and suspense, well naturally concept is weakened in any sequel, but there's still some interesting stuff and some of it is well-handled.Disneykid wrote:I dunno who to believe. I've been hearing mixed reviews for FD2 with some saying it's better than the first, and others not. I, personally, love the original film and am curious to see the sequel. I think I'll just wait for it to air on PPV to decide.
If you liked the death sequences from the first one and wished they were gorier and more drawn-out, then I think you'll love FD2.

I disagree with that, for the most part. The second one did have brains, I thought it was very clever how they tied this one in with the second one. I do not think it was gore over kill. If you do not like blood or whatever you probably wouldn't like this movie but I think it was very realistic, and would think that the people who didn't like the death scenes, would not like it for that reason. The ending, yes, I did not care for it either, as I mentioned above somewhere, but I just think it was in poor taste, but might have worked with different music, maybe something a little more ominous...Luke wrote:I strongly disagree. And while I liked the character of Alex, mainly because his name was Alex, he would not have worked in the sequel, and I therefore can accept the way they wrote him off. (They could not have 2 characters with preminitions in the second one...)
I also think this movie was pretty suspenseful, but that is my opinion... So all I ask is that you guys, who are reading this post, and this goes double for you disneykid, Please please please watch this movie for yourself, before you write it off completely. If nothing else I think this would make a great rental...
