Piglet's BIG Movie = Missing Insert?

Post by KBDVD »

Hi All,

One quick question,

I just opened my copy of "Piglet's BIG Movie" and discovered that it contained no insert. Is this correct? or is mine missing?

Best Regards,
KBDVD. :?

Wouldn't really surprise me, as even the 2-disc "Gangs of New York" didn't have an insert.

This doesn't street until Tuesday, so most folks probably won't know until then, but I think it's unlikely you got an odd copy that's just missing one.

A lot of companies are taking this route, and I am shamed to see disney to follow this trend... It really is a shame! :(. They better not do this with the even more MAJOR releases....

If they don't include inserts for the January SE's I'm gonna be REALLY ticked off...

Damn...another one?

I just don't get this "trend" at all. It cheapens the product, IMO. I know we dn't buy DVDs for the inserts, but opening up a DVD case and having a glaring void on the left side where we've come to expect something is a letdown.

I just can't accept the argument that they're saving millions of dollars by going this route.

I know this sounds stupid, but I LOVE INSERTS!!!!!!*

*if inserts are referring to the slips of paper in the cases for special offers, advertisments on upcoming releases, and mini-catalogues.

Yes and no.

I consider an INSERT to be the slip-piece that highlights the Film. On one side you usually have the picture from the front of the DVD case, while the other side you have a chapter listing. The additional inserts that Disney is known for are extra inserts that I also look forward too.

Disney's done very few GOOD inserts - MGM's Collectible Booklets (an extinct creature as far as I can tell) and Columbia/TriStar's informative little booklet are worthwhile - but if it's just a reproduction of the cover and with chapter listings on the back, it's nice to have, but not a real big deal.

The only Disney ones that have had these booklet types are their Collector's Editions (including the Platinums).

Hi Again,

Sorry, I forgot that the US release date isn't till Tuesday!

To confirm, my DVD contained an "advertising" insert, (small booklet) but NOT the usual chapter listing sheet.

This would seem to indicate that Disney don't mind spending out on inserts when it might mean that there is something in it for them!

If someone could confirm the absence of the chapter listing once your release date arrives, I would appreciate it.

ps: One bit of good news. I can confirm that the disc carries a trailer for the rumoured "Springtime With Roo" direct to DVD release in the first quarter of 2004.

Best Regards,
KBDVD.
