Movies That Make You Cry

Post by Disney Guru »

I am not sure if this have ever been discussed here before. But some of the movies that make me cry are.

An Affair To Remember
All Dog Films. (Because before when I still had my dog I enjoyed all of them, but after she was stolen, I can't watch a Dog Movie without crying my eyes out)
Peyton Place
Return To Peyton Place
How Green Was My Valley
it's A Wonderful Life
Winning Team

It might be weird, but the movie that makes me cry every time is "The fox and the hound". The part where the fox (not sure what his name is in english) is put back into the forest is soooooooooo sad. It even beats The Lion King (Mufasa's death) and Bambi (Bambi's mother's death).

Well, there really aren't any movies that make me start crying, but there are some that move me enough to make my eyes watery, which I guess is the next best thing.

Pinocchio
The Little Mermaid
Beauty and the Beast
Aladdin
The Lion King
E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial
Casablanca
Star Wars

I can be moved to tears by a movie, but I usually don't cry on repeat viewings.

Examples of movies that have made me cry:

Beauty and the Beast
E.T.
"Mustard? Don't let's be silly!"
--Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland

there are a lot, but the biggest ones I have deatl with are:

Remember the Titans
Old Yeller
Pollyanna
Fox and the Hound

The funny thing is for as much as I like Disney, I sure get choked up in a lot of the movies made by them:)

Old Yeller is the only movie I ever remember crying in.

Although, tears did roll down during A Fish Called Wanda, but only because I was laughing so hard.

"Hoosiers" is the only movie that can really get me. Mind, I get misty-eyed during many films, but as far as actual crying goes ... not as many.

This is an interesting topic because I watched Grave of the Fireflies a couple nights ago and cried more than any other movie I've ever seen. I highly recommend this movie to anyone.

This'll sound stupid: Goldfinger. Because my dad took me to see it when I was a kid, and he passed away 16 years ago.

I never have huge crying fits, but I teared up at The Passion of the Christ, and I get choked up/watery eyes with Walt: One Man's Dream, It's A Wonderful Life, the opening sequence of The Lion King, and the original Miracle on 34th Street.

The Lion King... at the end when they are all roaring

Joy Luck club... through the whole thing

The Passion...I'm not even remotely religious but the parts when Mary was flashing back to Jesus as a toddler falling were very powerful.

There's probably others but Spirited Away is my ultimate weakness

First time I saw this in theaters I was crying during the last 20 minutes of the movie and no matter how many times I see it I still cry.

I dunno exactly why I cried though, it just one of those thing.

As far as Disney movies, The Small One brought me to tears, I had never seen it until just a few days ago! Also the song sequence in Treasure Planet made me cry as well.

Non-Disney movies: I was a gurly mahn through almost the entire The Passion of the Christ, and at the ending of Saving Private Ryan, Blow, and Gods and Generals. Quite a diversity huh? :)

The only movie I ever actually cried at was when I first saw Schindler's List and watched the scene at the end of the movie where all those people were laying rocks on Schindler's grave-a sign of great honor (I learned that from one of my Jewish friends).
