Alternative DVD cover for Beauty and the Beast

Post by haagi_de »

Hi Disney-Freaks and fans,
finally got my Beauty and the Beast cover finished and uploaded. I didn't like the cover when I got my RC1 disc, so I tried to make one myself.
I got it on my webspace which is accessible until the end of October. I'm not gonna be doing any Emailing because I've only got a modem and the file is about 3.5mb.
So download, spread and print, if you like. And, of course, tell me what you think of it.
Special thanks to Ryan who already helped me out with some advice concerning the latest font-design. (When I sat down to finish the cover today, I ended up using the other font, however. But since it happened unintentionally - thinking it was the one I wanted to use - I think it's gotta be that way ;))

So, enough for the talking now, here you go guys:

Looks very nice, although the text on spines usually goes in the opposite direction.

I love that image of the rose with Belle & Beast's profiles on the pedals - ever since the DVD first came out, I wished that could be the cover. Nice work.

Even though I like the Authentic one better. You deffinately have talent and a lot of possibilities. Take it from a Bad Coustom Art Designer like me. You are going places in the Coustom Artworks World. I can see it now. LARS, Coustom Artworks win Global Award for best in the world.

hey thanks,
as for the titles on the spine: it's really a total mess over here in Germany. Even DVDs from the same studio don't have them in the same direction/position. I checked my Disney DVDs and apart from the German Snow White all fo the others (German or US) have the spine in the other direction, so I really wanna change that!
I'll let you know when I've uploaded the updated version.

OMG! I love it! I just printed a copy but only part of it printed since it's too big. Is there a way to print it?

Definately! That's one cover! The French really do have great cover art (Sleeping Beauty was great, too!)

@ MickeyMouseboy: I actually saved the jpg in the original size and when I had it printed in the copy shop it worked out fine... try to load it in a software where you can resize it without changing the resolution (if you've got Photoshop or Corel that should be no problem) and resize it to 183x274mm (I know that's not exactly Amary, but the original was even bigger)
Hope that helps.
