Heroine with the Best Singing Voice

Post by Prince Adam »

Just thought I'd ask, and see what everyone else thinks. With me, it's a tie between Ariel and Belle. "Part of Your World" was what did it for me with Ariel, and although a lot of people don't like Paige O'Hara's voice, just listen to her rendition of "The First Noel" on the "Enchanted Christmas" soundtrack and you'll hear why I picked her.

And for Jasmine and Mulan, since Lea Salonga sang the parts for both heroines, and since there isn't a lot of difference between their voices, I made them one choice.

I heaven't heard Adriana Caselotti sing.

The only heroines I've heard are:

Belle (Paige O'Hara)
Queen Nala (Laura Williams, Sally Dworsky)
Princess Kiara (Charity Sanoy, Liz Callaway)
Miriam (Sally Dworsky)
Tzipporah (Michelle Pfeiffer)

Since you don't have any choices for Nala or Kiara, I'd have to choose Belle in this case. :)

I remember Belle singing about Prince Charning and chapter three.

Both Nala and Kiara sing love songs. Isn't that cute? Aww.

I have to say, most of them are good for a certain type of singing and I don't think many of them are better than the other. I thought that Paige O'Hara had the most outgoing and smooth, beautiful voice you would use for like a stage musical, and I picked her. I thought Mary Costa had a beautiful high voice, for like opera, and although I don't like opera (haven't even seen one except for in movies), her voice is beautiful and enchanting. Ilene Woods had the most relaxing voice, and she seemed like she'd be the best as like a lounge singer or something, like singing Sinatra songs or something, I loved her in "So This Is Love". But, in the end, I voted for Paige O'Hara (Belle).

It was not Demi Moore who gave Esmeralda her singing voice!
It was Heidi Mollenhauer

Like I said, it was her rendition of "The First Noel" that did it for me! But I also really liked Susan Egan's portrayal of Belle (love the song "Home")!

Well, it was no question, Ofcourse I had to vote for my love.

She has one of the classic singing voices, and it is pleasent to listen to. She has her own to heart felt songs that she sings, I wonder and Once Upoun a Dream (which is actually a duet with you know who  )

but each of these women shine in one are or another...

Snow White - now she isn't my favorite voice at first sound, but when you get use to her girlish tones, she sings some nice tones, though I think Barbra S's rendition of Some Day My Prince Will Come was better, and that is a first, because I usaully prefer the disney versions...

Cinderella sings several beautiful songs... "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes", "Sing Sweet Nightengale", and "So this is Love"...

Ariel again has a magical voice, but then again she would have to, since that is her trademark feature....

Belle- I think the Beauty of of voice is brought out out 2 parts in the original... when she sings to the sheep "Ohhhh isn't this amazing...chapter 3" and in something there when she sings "New and a bit alarming..." they are the same notes from before but I think that those are her magic notes...

Jasmine/Mulan- Love Lea Sologna, so great she had a chance to show off her music cords again, since her part in Aladdin was small, A Whole New World was so magical, and her rendition of reflection blows Agulaira's right out of the water...

Pocahontas- Don't really remeber her singing, but know she sings one of my favorite disney songs..."Colors of the Wind" and better than who ever R&B'ed it

Still I have to say top marks for beautiful/magical voice got to Aurora and Cinderella, because I just love the classic beauty of their voices...Image

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention Susan Eagen.... Love her song :I won't say I'm in Love"...

Edit: "God help the Outcasts" is so beautiful, visually and audiolly, whoever sings it. :)

Rock on Rogue!

Post by sleepingemporerlilo »

Rogue, I was seriously about to scold these people for not voting for little Lea. I saw her on Broadway in Flower Drum Song, she has the purest vocal tone! Disney clearly loves her, why else would they use her twice. Judy Kuhn is also amazing as Pocahantas.

I was going to add Pocahontas, but I had no idea who sang the part, and I didn't want to re-do it later after watching the credits. Did she do the singing voice in Pocahontas 2? I loved "Where I Go From Here" and "Bridge of Love". The second of the two was kinda corny, but oh well.

And sorry about mistaking Esmeralda's singing voice, it just sounds so much like Demi Moore. I saw her in part of GI Jane last night-she's one of the few Disney voice actors that's completely recognizable. Some voice actors change their voices slightly for the characters-it's obvious she didn't.
