oh man,

Mufasa death, Cry every time

but pocahontas, when she has to say goodbye to john smith and she runs up the cliff and waves goodbye, ughhh *bursts into tears*

Tarzan, i get a lump in my throat in the beginning scene, but i ALWAYS cry at the end when kerchak dies, and tarzan finally gets to acknowledge kerchaks feelings and then he dies

the little mermaid, i cry at the end!! When ariel is on the rock and she knows she cant be with prince eric, and king triton realise he cant be happy when ariel is so sad, so he sacrifices his relationship to let her have the life she wants. and then they come in with the chorus
*breaks down again*[/i]

That bit in Robin Hood (is it just before he's going to be beheaded or something?) where he tells Marion he loves her more than life itself. Oh my, gets me every time. Though I'm terribly embarrassed not to remember what's happening in the context of the film at that time.

Also, from the same film, the singing rooster in jail, when all the poor animals are chained up, and they try and feed their children, and when the churchmice donate their last farthing to Friar Tuck. Lump-in-the-throat moment every time.

I listed a few of the top of my head in the poll, but I want you to tell us about your choice, it does not have to be one from the poll. (the poll is temporary and just cause I'm bored, but your actual answers are of intrest to me)

I will have to ponder this for some time for myself before I can answer. :)

Again just incase I wasn't clear above...

What is the saddest moment in a disney flick, or what do you think are the saddest moments, a ranking of most sad would be helpful. :)

Just for your info, Mulan is avalilable on DVD, I have it. Dont you? OK, but don't say is its debut.

PS. OK means I'm overlooking your lack of commitment.

Since nobody mentioned it, I'd like to add Willie The Whale's death in Make Mine Music

my saddest moment

Post by indrajit »

from the list probably Mufasa's Death.

but otherwise....

I had read the Grimm's fairytale version long before I saw Little Mermaid. For those who haven't read it let me tell you the ending: The Little Mermaid dies! and the Prince does not even get to truly know her! As a kid that was probably the saddest thing I read (it made me sniffle for sure). When the movie came out I anticipated the ending - so I didn't see it for a while. Imagine my surprise when I saw the movie: :jawdrop: . I liked it but, oddly, that is my saddest Disney movie moment - when Disney couldn't end the story the Grimm's way I felt a bit cheated.
I didn't feel the same way with robin hood though. I had read Robin hood and knew he died. But I though the movie was too light hearted (especially with full animal cast) to make me think robin would die. In TLM, the movie was so serious and filled with human characters that I totally expected the Grimm's ending.
