UltimateDisney's DVD Reviews. Do you read them?

Post by deathie mouse »

Hi there Mouseketeers and DisneyLovers alike. This is the very first deathie poll :P so be gentle.

I love this site's DVD reviews, especially for it's copious gorgeous captures and in depth info about supplements etc :P And lately they have gotten even better! So the marmalade was wondering if you also find them candydeliciously good and use them on your daily decision making activities of priorities in life or go to the other extreme and don't even know they are there. Or anything in between. Vote and post away and leave da feedback. :D

They are very detailed and great to read when you are not sure if you want to buy a Disney DVD.
Thanks Luke for these awesome reviews. :D

I'm glad you posted something like this. I wanted to, but I figured it'd be too egotistical or maybe the response would merely be soul-shattering.

But yes, any feedback on the reviews would be appreciated. Many a hour go to them, and yet I never really get to hear what people like or what people would change.

No! Rule #1 of UltimateDisney...don't edit polls!

Your polls has vanished. I have the options open in another window. I can try starting a new thread and merging you into it.

Not sure what you said in your last post, but I salvaged your poll...or rather recreated it and made it look salvaged.

In the future, remember you can't even edit first posts if they have polls. Or that poll will go bye-bye or be screwy...usually.

Don't know why. That's just how it is.

The reviews here are superb!! I read them every time I am contemplating my next Disney DVD purchase and every time I pull out the bonus features on one of my DVDs! Sometimes I read them just for fun. 8)

I really enjoy the reviews, and I always read them when I am on the fence about a purchase or to see what you thought of a movie I already own. I try not to read reviews about something I know I'm going to purchase for fear of spoilers regarding the bonus material. However, I succumbed to temptation and read the Aladdin review early.

I like the closing comments section of the review because a person can get the flavor of the review without spoilerific material.

I always read them! The second news of a new review is posted on the home page i'm in there straight away. And usually i don't buy a DVD unitl it's review has been posted here, there the only reviews i trust! Some other sites just don't give you all of the information. Keep 'em coming! :)

I definitely always read them. I'm so glad that Disney's finally started sending screeners out to Luke and that there are so many reviews now.

Also, even though there are alot more reviews now, the quality hasn't gone down at all, I think that it's actually gone up! One fine example would be the brilliance of Luke's Aladdin review. :D

I always read the reviews on the site.
I find them all helpful and informative.
They especially help when I am thinking about buying a dvd that I haven't seen.
Keep up the good work Luke!

I buy EMPIRE magazine here in NZ and the only thing i hate about it, (apart from its sexist slant:S) is the way the reviewers dont understand animation.

Its kiddies stuff

Its a primitive form of cinema

Yea disney is boring and formulaic

ARGGHHHH!!! I love that you review everything and that you do it from an anmation lover point of view. You review what actually matters and i can trust your judgements:)

Keep up the fan-fikken-tastic work :)

No, I tend to rely on rotten tomatoes because of the number of reviews available. That and I have already seen every Disney movie of note and know what I want to buy and what I dont. It is probabaly the only section of the site I have never been to aside from chat.

Of course! I always read the reviews :) . They usually are the deciding vote on whether or not to buy a certain DVD. But I never read the summaries of the movie if it is a movie I haven't seen yet. I hate knowing the ending to anything before I see the movie. After knowing the ending (not on purpose) going into Titanic and the Sixth Sense, the movie didn't move me as much as it did others.

I would have thought everybody would have gone into the cinema knowing the ending to Titanic ;)

Well I never reveal endings in my reviews. In fact, I tend to avoid using anything significant that happens in the second half of a film, unless it serves a point and won't really weaken your enjoyment.

Just an FYI. :)

I've read a few, but not many. I don't have much time at the moment. I read ones that I'm really interested in.
