Typicaly the two DVD that I wanted for this month (beside new release's), The Black Cauldron and The Three Caballeros, aren't in the sale! :x

I might get both Rescuers DVD instead though, when does the sale end?

Dunno. I would act now if you have the money. The last sale they had (I snapped up Peter Pan and Return to Neverland for a friend's Birthday) lasted two weeks I think, but I don't know when this one started.

I'm guessing Melody Time is still edited...

I'm hoping that they will one day be released, unedited.

Failing that, I'm hoping they will all be released here eventually, so at the very least I can get them cheap...

www.splashdvd.com have a similar sale on, with some of the prices being a pound or two less than at play - they also have Black Cauldron and Caballeros (9.99 each)

I'm tempted to order Treasure Planet, is the R2 disc OK? (I thought it was a single disc rlease :?)

Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search For Christopher Robin, Pocahontas, Hunchback Of Notre Dame, Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad, Basil The Great Mouse Detective and The Tigger Movie all interest me too :) Can't find any comparisons, should it be OK to go for the R2 for all of these?

I quite fancy the Tarzan Collector's Edition, but the R2 is missing a commentary (according to dvdcompare.net, at least), so I guess I'll pass this time.

One last question, should I just order "The Fox & The Hound", or continue to hold out hope that they'll announce a SE in the OAR some time in the future?

Thanks

Pooh's Grand Adventure is not available in R1, so R2 seems like a good decision. :)

Pocahontas - there is supposed to be a special edition coming to the US in January which may be 2 discs. If you can't wait the R2 is the one to go for. Not only does it have a better picture, but a number of exclusive supplements - including the famous deleted song "If I Never Knew You" presented in a mixture ofpencil roughs and storyboard format.

Hunchback - The R1 release has the following supplements:
Amazon.Com wrote:Commentary by producer Don Hahn and directors Kirk Wise & Gary Trousdale
"The Making of 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'"
Topsy Turvy Underground game
Multi-language reel - "A Guy Like You"
Sing-Along song - "Topsy Turvy"
While the R2 has the following:
Choices Direct wrote:History Of The Production Of Hunchback Featurette, Early Presentation Reel With Don Hahn Featurette,, Computer Generated Imagery Demo, Someday Deleted Song, Topsy Turvy Underground Game, Animation Progression Reel Featurette, History And Background Of Notre Dame De Paris
Personally I choose the R1 release for the commentary. I'm thinking of picking up the R2 version in the Play sale being as there is still no sign of a Special Edition release in the US.

The others are basically the same in R1 and R2 I think - choose whichever one you want.

Thanks, didn't know about that - think I'll just hold on for a while.

I'll just go R2 for the rest (except for Hunchback, I'd rather have the commentary), since it'll be quite a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the advice, now I better go get a second job
