I think the saddest moment isn't when Bambi's mother died, I think it was after she died when Bambi was looking for her and yelling "mother." :(

I always wanted to know why Simba didn't just go to his mom. I mean, when you're little, the person who can always help you is your mom ("your mother and mine" :pan: ), so I don't know why Simba didn't just go to Sarabi. Did he honestly think she would be mad that her son killed Mufasa? She probably wouldn't have even believe Scar had she not been so ridden with grief. If Simba was there, she would have believed him.[/quote]

well, you have to remember he did have the hyenas on his tail. but yeah, I guess running to mom might have worked I guess..

other sad moments would be when the step-sisters tore Cinderella's dress when she was going to the ball. I wanted to smack the sisters so badly!

I´m also voting for Mufasa´s death, everyone I now says that scene is one of the saddest moments not just in animated movies.

I'm a very emotional person (I cry for a good Hallmark commercial :( :( :( :( ) but I never found Mufasa's death sad. I just don't like him, or that movie for that matter.

Agreed. My thoughts exactly! I just never was able to jump on the Lion King Hype, i guess maybe b/c i don't like JTT. I bought the DVD and the extras were quite nice though! :)

Another of the saddest momment is when Quasimodo looks at Esmeralda kissing Phoebus while He's lying in the ground. That moment breaks my heart. :(

I haven't seen some of the older films in awhile but of the newer ones most definitely Mufasa's death. What really gets me is the music. For me music is the main emotional trigger in a film for me. It either seals the deal when it comes to me shedding tears in films, and Mufasa's death was so very poignant. I also find the scene where Simba and Mufasa are playing (right after the Elephant graveyard) even more tearjerking as WE KNOW in the next scene Mufasa is going to bite the big one and Simba we'll think he is to blame.

I also love the intro to Tarzan. I wouldn't say it's up there with Mufasa's death but I just think it's so well done and emotional, especially the part where Tarzan's father rubs Tarzan's head, and then smiles at his family in a loving way.

Oliver and Co.

Post by I am the Doctor »

I always get choked up during the beginning of Oliver and Company when Oliver is abandoned and alone on the streets of New York City in a rainstorm. However, since Oliver and Company was not on the list, I voted for Dumbo.

Most of these get me emotional, but I picked Mufasa's death. In the whole first act of this movie, we get to see this honorable, brave, and noble father, and I think many people would want to have a dad like Mufasa. Part of it is also the spirit and vitality that James Earl Jones brings to the role. I think it is fantastic that we see a vision of Mufasa later in the movie, propelling the circle of life to its next revolution.

Personally, I thought it was Sully opens the door in the closing scene of Monsters Inc.

"Boo?"

"Kiddy!"

I picked Hunchback, but not for the opening. It was sad, but it wasn't the saddest part in the movie at all. There are so many things in that movie that made me sad. It's just a sad movie, I guess.

indeed.
also what makes so sad this scene it's not only the fact that Bambi is just a child, also than he fears and thinks than his mother had abandoned him but even so he calls she hoping than he's wrong and his mother is somewhere back.
finally the Great Prince appears just to confirm the worst. And all the hope on Bambi disappear whit one tear than falls from a sad eyes and come from the very deep of a broken heart
