Favorite Disney Collector's Edition

Post by Disneykid »

We all love Disney's Collector's Edition DVD sets, no question. Which is YOUR favorite, though? THAT'S the question! :D Ultimate Toy Box is definitely the pick for me. :)

The poll only let me put up 5 options, so consider this part 1 of a two part poll.

I chose the Tarzan CE....it was my first Disney dvd, and Glen Keane's art on the second disc is very inspiring for an animation student like me.

Hmm, the maximum poll option is set to 15 CHOICES, so you really should have been able to list them all. I'll look into it.

From these choices, Ultimate Toy Box for sure!

Oh I hate these! Every set there is excellent, loaded with features. How can I pick a favorite? They did a great job with Fantasia, except for the known censorship issue. Ultimate Toy Box is incredible. Tarzan and Bug's Life were both great too. Hmmmm, out of this set, I will reluctantly vote for Toy Box, but I love them all.

Oh, I already voted in the other one :)
Well, out of these four 'Ultimate Toy Box' wins hands down for me because it is a Pixar lovers wet dream....

*but were afraid to ask.

Although, "Bug's Life" was the first DVD I ever bought as a single disc, and was also the first DVD I re-bought when it came out as a CE. So I guess that deserves a special vote for me...

I'd have to say The Ultimate Toy Box. Once again ,I am biased towards pixar. However, once I get fantasia, my choice might change...

I voted for the Ultimate Toy Box!!! I've had it for a few months in my posession, however couldn't watch it until my birthday (my mom got it for my birthday, which was yesterday). You don't know how hard it was seeing that box and not being able to watch it for a month and a half. Well, well. i'm going to watch it this weekend!!!!!!

I have to say Tarzan as well. The transfer is flawless, and the special features are educational, as well as entertaining.

Unfortunately I do have any of these, and have not viewed them to know the extent of the Special Features, but I am probably most angst to get my hands on the Tarzan CE... I saw a link to an auction yesterday, but it would have probably cost me 40+ dollars, and frankly I don't want to pay that. I am hoping that when Tarzan is rereleased which should be by 2005, since it has been vaulted for a few years now, or will be by then.

A Bugs Life, is a movie I haven't been that interested in, but since the SE has been rereleased for $20 it may be something to eventually check out, and maybe a second viewing will allow me to enjoy the film more than the first time. :) Though the day before, or of, the rereleasing I got my hands on the original 2 Disc set (in the store) and looked at the SF included and it didn't seem to impressive, but maybe you just have to experience them...

Fantasia Anthology is something I was really trying to get my hands onto, until I saw the first Fantasia, and then my interest died away, but I figure with the 3 installment set for 2006, that the Platinum Edition of the first and Special Edition of the second, can't be too far off... I can definately wait on this one.

The Utimate Toy Box, is definately something I want to own, and do to the overwhelming amount of votes it recieved on the above poll, I'm guessing it's good! So this will definately be something to obtain I think. :)

Now I didn't vote, and don't think it would be fair to, unless I had actually all of these, and since I have seen none it would not be right to, but if I was voting on the one I wanted the most it would have to be Tarzan...

Unfortunately I have none. I badly badly want Tarzan and the Ultimate Toy Box though. I also want A Bug's Life but not near as much. Too bad the two I really want are so expensive.

From the ones above, I picked "Fantasia Anthology". The only letdown of this incredible set is that the original film was cruelly edited!!

I went with Fantasia, Disney seemed to have really dug through their closets to find all the info we see.

Ultimate Toy Box is so generic it has the same things you have in every pixar release. Fantasia has actually alot of archival stuff on disc 3 plus the stuff in the feature discs
