Your Disney movie marathon...

Post by Evil Genie Jafar »

Ok, let's post here those days when we have made a marathon of movies and the movies you saw:

For me, altough I didn't plan it, I ended up watching:

Atlantis
Dinosaur
Tarzan
Treasure Planet

I sometimes make " theme" or character marathons. Well when I got my wave 3 treasures I did a donald/on the front lines marathon. a few weeks later when I got my wave 1 and 2 box set I did a Mickey Mouse mouseathon! :P Cus I never had seen most of those shorts. I can barely remember them now it's all a blur but it's all good cus that means when i get mm in bw 2 in december and donald 2 i can do it all over again!

I've also watched Saludos Amigos/3 Caballeros as one extended movie :P (i keep waiting for the end of the trilogy: "Back in the USA"! :P :P)

when all the special editions platinums etc come out i might do a disney fem power marathon
Snow White Cinderella Alice Sleeping Beauty Mary Poppins Little Mermaid Beauty and The Beast Pocahontas Mulan thing :P or a Cinemascopic Wide Formats Lady and the Tramp Sleeping Beauty Black Cauldron Atlantis Brother Bear wideathon

["deathie mouse"]I sometimes make " theme" or character marathons.
I usually do the same thing. Not just with Disney but with movies in general. Like just horror, just action... And I even do a selection of the category. Like slow horror movies, slasher ones... And that's without thinking about it.

Today for example as you can see, except from Tarzan the rest are the least favored Disney movies. I even was about to choose Lilo and Stitch over TP but thought that it would break the "seriousness" of the others.

Ha! That's kind of right. But I did it because of two main reasons: I was thinking about these movies lately (how they didn't meet expectations) and since I don't like them that much I don't watch them that much either so I was "taking their dust off".

PS

You actually read my mind, I'm trying to calm my anxiety in a way till Tuesday.

I know everything

Actually, if you have a laserdisc player, I could lend you my Aladdin widescreen CAV laserdisc till your dvd arrives to calm your nerves. But you'd have to pay transportation costs for the disc and me cus i'm not letting it out of my sight!

I typically do not have marathon movie sessions, but I will watch them in a certain sequence over the course of a few days or weeks.

Some possibilities include theatrical release order, DVD release order, from least favorite to favorite, and overall theme. Believe it or not, I seldom watch a movie and its sequel back to back.

Since it takes me at least two days to watch a complete movie, a marathon would take me forever........

I'm not much for marathons, but I've just got a question for catNC:

Are you possibly a fan of All My Children? The name of your son intrigues me, as it's Aiden Jacob, and there are two actors on AMC with those names: Aiden Turner (plays Aidan Devane) and Jacob Young (plays JR Chandler).

I'm with CatNC. I feel lucky if I'm able to get in half a movie in one sitting. Marathons are not a current option in my busy life. :(

Someone else asked me the same question. I honestly had no idea about the AMC connection. I just saw the names in the big book of baby names we had and liked it so that's what my baby got named :)

With me between School, Homework, Girlfriend and Work. I am lucky if I get to see a whole movie in 4 days. Actually I am usually at work when I chat with you guys and am surfing the web.

Well, whenever I've got free time... probably if I'm lucky the next weekend, I'm planning one with Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and Aladdin; in that order.

I'm actually planning a huge Disney marathon next week, with over 50 movies.

Starts Monday.

I'm planning on including in my 'thon:

Summer Magic (1968), The Parent Trap (1961), Pollyanna (1960), Greyfriars Bobby (1961), The Gnome Mobile (1967), Swiss Family Robinson (1960), The Three Lives of Thomasina (1964), The Love Bug (1968), Son of Flubber (1963), The Shaggy D.A. (1976), The Moon Spinners (1964), Pete's Dragon (1977), Bedknobs & Broomsticks (1971), The Shaggy Dog (1959), The Absent Minded Professor (1961), Mary Poppins (1964) (again), 101 Dalmatians (1996), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)...

and a bad VHS copy (but the only one I've got) of Dr. Syn / The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh.

Then:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937), Pinocchio (1940), Fantasia (1940), Dumbo (1941), Bambi (1942), The Three Caballeros (1945), Make Mine Music (1946), Fun and Fancy Free (1947), Melody Time (1948), The Adventures of Ichabod & Mr. Toad (1949), Cinderella (1950), Alice in Wonderland (1951), Peter Pan (1953), Lady and the Tramp (1955), Sleeping Beauty (1959), 101 Dalmatians (1961), The Sword and the Stone (1963), The Jungle Book (1967), The Aristocats (1970), Robin Hood (1973), The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (1977), The Rescuers (1977), Fox and the Hound (1981), The Black Cauldron (1985), The Great Mouse Detective (1986), Oliver & Company (1988), The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), The Lion King (1994), Pocahontas (1995), The Rescuers Down Under (1990).

How many days do you think it'll take me to plow down that lot?

When I recently got the Blu-rays for "High School Musical 2" and "High School Musical 3", I tried watching them back-to-back but thought I'd stop the sugar overload, so subsituted "Strangers with Candy"--an entirely different sort of highschool comedy--for HSM3.
I'm just valentine candy and boxing-gloves!
