My parents don't watch many of their extra features, so I asked them to watch the Beauty & The Beast commentary with me. They said they enjoyed it, so hopefully they will watch more of them in the future. However, they don't have as much free time as I do, so I understand that they will not watch every feature on their DVDs.

Just watched Pinocchio for the first time in a while. Still just as scary! :o

Hmmm

Post by Disney Guru »

I watched the Disney Classic The Waltz King Last Night.

I cherish my VHS In Origional White Puffy Clamshell. Of this movie. It is one of the best Disney Movies Ever.

This was also the first Disney Film I ever bought way back in 1998. It was a cold winter's night as I went to work. And saw this movie sitting on the shelf. Hmm I thought I would like to see this movie, so my boss let me borrow it. I loved it. I wanted to buy it but he said $50! So I saved and bought it. It has been the greatest investment in my life.

Here is an review of this great movie from www.imdb.com

Leon, Gto. Mexico

Date: 23 May 2004
Summary: This is a film that hits the core of every heart...

ā€˜The Waltz King' is a sweet, loveable Disney movie with great music that hits the core of every heart and move your spirit and soul… I hope that someday it will be released on DVD for all the family and young kids of the world…

We need this kind of films to educate, entertain, and stimulate our children… Something that keeps them away from violence…and elevates their spirit and their emotion…

ā€˜The Waltz King' tells the beautiful story of Johann Strauss, Jr. who is not cut out to be a lawyer as his father commands… Johann's life is ā€˜in' music…

The film relates how the lovely Henriette Treffz encouraged Johann's career giving him cash money for his grand debut…

Kervin Mathews (the dashing hero of adventures pictures…) proves to be a threat to his father, the genius, the master, and the idol… Mathews plays the sensitive gifted artist who (dares to defy his father…) creates the kind of music people like to hear…

Senta Berger is (Strauss' support…) the sweet, feminine, and elegant opera singer who (couldn't resist the excitement…) adds one more element of charm and sweetness to the film…

Brian Aherne (fails to spoil his son's debut…) captures the spirit of Vienna's gay spring nights directing (`Roses from the South') his son's orchestra…

Peter Kraus plays the shy brother (Josef Strauss) who proves once for all that conducting is the second nature of a Strauss....

Fritz Eckhardt plays the enthusiastic music empresario who will pay anything so that Schani's debut doesn't come off…

Vilma Degischer (Mama Strauss) read her husband's mind when she implored: ā€˜Do so with charity in your hearts.'

If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of Viennese charm and elegance with the (two Johanns who ruled the Viennese dance world…) waltzes and operetta melodies… well, invite your wife and kids to see this film… I'm so confident that you will be very pleased.
"I have this tremendous energy. I just loved and love life. I love it today. I never want to die."

Shocker:

I recently watched Aladdin.

The first time I'd really watched it in a VERY long time- so nice to revisit it. I'm so excited to finally own it!

Just watched "Freaky Friday" - 1977

Still makes me feel good. Barbara Harris is a blast.
