Oh for sure, yes. But again, I liked that kind of stuff as a kid anyway so that was never a problem for me.

I liked horrorish stuff as a kid too, and it usually didn’t my scare me in animated films, either. Live-action films, the horror stuff I still liked but it did sometimes scare me.

I absolutely understand why, though, it has the reputation that it does. I still don't know if any of my sisters have shown this movie to their kids (the oldest just turned 8 ). I think the forest chase is the big block for them.

What's stood out for me, though, I'd say is the raw emotions of something like the funeral scene for Snow White. Like, I don't think I've ever watched that and not felt moved.
I`ve always found the film scary (especially the part of the forest), but I was never traumatized by it. Which is a good thing, lol :D

"Snow White" is a lot scarier to me as an adult than it was as a kid. Now that I have the capacity to appreciate the animation technique of someone like the Evil Queen, things just stand out to me more.

If we want to talk about Disney movies that actually scared me as a kid, I legit ran out of the room first time I watched "Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea"

Why? you ask

I was so scared for Melody during the scene where she's stealing the trident from the throne room when I saw both Ariel and King Triton swimming in about to catch her in the act. I REMEMBERED how Triton reacted to troublemaking from the last movie, and the idea of Melody of having to face that AND her mother, it was too much for me.

Monster trees were fine. Angry parents, though, I could not abide ...
