More from the D23 Expo. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel sung together the song "Frozen Heart". It's unknown whether a new version of the song will be in the film or if it was just something done for the convention. Olaf has a new song called "Samantha" about a female snowman with whom he's in love. Disney released a teaser trailer too. In the trailer, we see Anna in her wedding dress, Elsa with a pink dress, and a first glimpse of the new (female) villain. Watch it while you can.

The use of the HONDA center is kind of a blessing when you cannot be an attendee, since this is the second time they do this, and they obviously cannot control the leaks... especially compared to the main room of the Anaheim Convention Center, this is day and night!...

The villain makes me think of a scrapped version for Elsa (the one where she was a brunette, with short hair, and when she still was the antagonist of the first movie.)

Ah, that was a neat teaser. I'm grateful to have something I'm genuinely looking forward to from Disney Animation.

There's obviously some more lorifying that was definitely not planned when they were sketching out the 2013 film, much in the same way they definitely didn't know there was a magic forest with enchanted element spirits. I'm fine with that, just so long as they don't try too hard to retcon and make it seem like this evil ice witch was somehow the puppeteer behind the first two movies.

I agree that this new bad guy is probably an offloading of the plans they had for evil Elsa.

Seems like they basically recycled the earlier version of F1 with Anna about to get married and the marriage getting Interrupted by evil Elsa. So far, it looks like it has an actual plot unlike Frozen 2, which makes me excited! They should just leave out the whole confusing lore from F2 as the only relevant stuff was Anna becoming Queen and getting engaged.

I wonder if the movie still follows the Odin plot and the 2024 concept art, because it seems like they replaced the big bad. I hope not because the earlier concept sounded more mythical and interesting  but its Literally just a teaser, also love Annas Wedding fit and Belle esque hair. Elsas Outfit looks too simple and something out of a Direct to video sequel. Samantha was inevetable. :P But im sooo curious about the villain, as shes described as their secret family member, so perhaps the oldest sister who got outcast because of her powers, but then Elsa inherited them too so the parents js gave up? A cousin would make more sense....and now the F2 lore doesnt make sense again with the power System.

Last thing, i like the idea that this evil Snowqueen came out of the shadows after people accepted Elsas powers, as she probably had to conceal them too all those years and now lets them out in rage. Heres to hoping this is the #real Frozen 2

Also am i trippin or is the villain voiced by Kristen Andersen Lopez?!? :?
Songs that slap right now:

1. Cloudbusting (Kate Bush)
2. Petal (Ariana Grande)
3. Sugar talking (...๐–ฒ๐–บ๐–ป๐—‹๐—‚๐—‡๐–บ ๐–ข๐–บ๐—‹๐—‰๐–พ๐—‡๐—๐–พ๐—‹!)
4. Get this right! (Frozen 2)
5. Positions (Ariana Grande)
6. Taste (๐–ฒ๐–บ๐–ป๐—‹๐—‚๐—‡๐–บ๐–บ๐–บ๐–บ)
7. Part of ur world reprise (Little mermaid)

9. ๐–ณ๐—e Boy is mine (Brandy & Monica)
10. Thats how you know (Enchanted)

The villain reminded of evil Elsa too. I wonder if this new villain is supposed to be the "real" Snow Queen. All that sharp pieces of ice reminded me of the mirror shards from the original fairytale. Perhaps there's a connection there.

I was wondering about that too. The atmosphere and the visuals from the trailer didn't seem to correlate with the concept artwork they had released back then at all. I wonder if they scratched the Norse mythology angle completely or whether remnants of it remain in the final film. Could they be saving that for Frozen 4?

If the villain is the secret relative, it's more plausible for her to be an aunt (maybe from their mother's side who was banished for yielding the spirits' powers for evil?) than an older sister. Disney wouldn't want to change the dynamic (and the branding) of the two sisters by introducing another one.

I didn't like Elsa's dress in the trailer. It's too plain and unmemorable. I also find it strange that both sisters will be sporting a pink outfit in the film. That's too samey. I really like Anna's wedding dress, hairstyle, and tiara. Kristoff's outfit is meh. I didn't like the fact that Anna is upset with Kristoff over what seems to be nonsense and I'm sick of having Kristoff run after her again. Can't he have a purpose that revolves around something other than her? He's not his own person anymore; he's just Anna's lapdog. It's so annoying.

Thanks for posting that clip. After seeing it, it seemed more like a sequence than a actual trailer. But I liked what I saw. I liked how the snowflake morphed into a butterfly. The way how it morphed into a stone at the end reminded me a little bit of Star in Wish. Elsa definitively looked more mature in her outfit. Anna's dress was fine, despite how her hair seemed longer. The way the Northern Lights bent and went down to form a way was well done and reminded me a little bit of Brother Bear. The villainess seemed intriguing, though.

It's interesting and remarkable that Olaf is getting a love interest. But his song was cute and pleasant enough, despite how it wasn't outstanding.

I loved it. Glad Elsa will have a magical villain to show off her powers against. I liked the new outfit alright, but it's easily her weakest. It's weird, I do like pink as a color and they picked a perfect shade here, but most of the pink outfits the studio has had I haven't liked. I guess Cinderella's pink dress is the best of those along with Belle when she's wearing the fur hood in "Something There."

Sorry, but I disagree about Cinderella's pink dress. It was a little too overdone. But I agree about Belle's dress, though.

"It's Really Exciting" Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell & Josh Gad on Returning for 'Frozen 3'
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SUgkxk4YEIU

Idina, Kristen, and Josh reveal, among other things, that they haven't started working on Frozen 4, but have been given "previews" for what's to come. They also hype up the music, and stress that the story further advances the characters.

There's a hint that one of the main drivers of conflict will be Elsa feeling a little displaced now that Kristoff is Anna's number one. I'm really hoping that means some one-on-one scenes between Elsa and Kristoff because that's like the least-mined relationship among that foursome.

Anyways, I've just been glowing seeing how much attention we're getting for a film that's still a year out. Like, this feels like hype comparable to "Infinity War." This is what I'd wish for every Disney film.

Yes, I'm honestly surprised by how excited I am by the teaser. The more I watch it, the more I like all the new outfits there. (Although there's some other image with the sisters in outfits not seen in the teaser that I don't care for at all.)

The tone of 2's teaser was probably perfect after the first film to come across more serious since the property was probably seen negatively through the DP merchandise blitz all over the place after the first film. Whereas this feels good for the now, they seem to be opening up the world more. I have a hard time believing the character introduced is a villain, considering Olaf having a comic moment there of all places--or at least she's probably not the main one. I like to think she perhaps is simply the character that brings the existence of a powerful group of Norse god-esque figures to Elsa's attention. Perhaps she's even there to warn them of someone else that's coming, a Shere Khan tupe of villain who views her as a threat. It would make sense she's have more sympathy for Elsa than others in the pantheon because they share ice powers; perhaps with Elsa's powers having skyrocketed further at the end of II, that she's too powerful to just ignore anymore.

Either way, I'm glad Elsa will finally get a chance to show off her powers again, in fight scenes potentially. Just hope she and Anna get a duet or two, that was really the only thing lacking from II (and a duet between Anna and Kristoff for that matter).

I saw the trailer at the D23 and honestly the costumes that appears during Anna's wedding don't look historical to me. I think that they are now thinking more about selling dolls than in the story. The adventure costumes are great thug. Another thing that I didn't like was everything about Samantha, another cheap strategy to sell plush toys and a topic that all the franchises has (the sidekick having a girlfriend). People were like crazy when they showed the trailer, I was excited too but I expected something more mature.

Anna's wedding dress is similar to live action Cinderella's.

I thought the Samantha song was embarrassing and I don't understand why they always have to exaggerate a minor joke to the point that it's not funny anymore.

I guess the new villain might give this film some structure and it won't feel as aimless as the second film.

You are all right about Anna's gown! I didn't notice about how similar it looks to Ella's wedding gown but I don't know why it seems more modern to me than Ella's. The crown that she wears also doesn't look like the ones that we have seen in the Frozen films. I don't know, maybe I expected something more similar to the previous films. However I'm sure that people are going to get crazy with the designs and that they are going to sell tons of dolls.
