Classic Disney Compilations

I'm not sure how many people here know about or remember the "Classic Disney" compilation albums Disney put out in the 90's. 25 track albums that contained a wide variety of Disney songs from throughout the decades. 5 volumes were released from 1994-1998. Here's all the songs on them:

Well, 2025 was one of the worst years of my life, so one of the things that I did to keep my mind off the world was to imagine what the compilations would look like if Disney kept releasing them. So, I put together rules for myself: 25 tracks each, wide variety of decades and projects, fitting into the average runtime of the main 5 volumes, etc. And I made it so that "Disney" was only releasing them every 5 years now. So I have made 5 new volumes for 2004, 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024 now. So, since we have a whole bunch of Disney fans here, I thought I'd post my first one I did (2004) and if there is enough interest I might post the other 4. So here it is:

Ah, I actually do remember those. To this day, I actually still associate Timon and Pumbaa's outro for "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" with "Maybe he's right. Maybe there is something the matter with me ..." and the end of that number with the opening for "One Jump Ahead."

This is also how I started to become familiar with songs from movies I wouldn't see until much later. Finally seeing "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" in my early twenties scratched a deep itch when I at long last realized where "Whale of a Tale" came from.

I seem to remember only playing the Maroon and Blue volumes, but there are tracks from later installments that were also burned into my memory from movies I wouldn't see until long after our CD player was defunct, so maybe they were somewhere in there too. Maybe that's also where I was first exposed to some of the Broadway numbers for BatB, even though I wouldn't see that show live until I was in jr. high, which is also when those songs started to connect for me. (I'm just having a hard time imagining having ever heard any version of "If I Can't Love Her" and it not changing me on a molecular level, whether or not I had the context, because seeing it performed live as a 12 year old was a core memory.)

This is a nice list. I was going to ask if you were going to include songs from the newer movies also when I went back and reread your criteria.
