I think I first tried Mickey Mouse, but it didn't work, or I might have just done Prince Phillip, because I thought he was the coolest Prince, and part of one of my fave disney monies!
How did you pick your name?

Just curious how some of you guys picked your names... and I know some of you just used your already existing screen name or adress name, but the question still stands how did you pick it?

I've been using the screename Loomis for years as I was big horror movie fan a few years back.
Loomis was the name of the boyfriend in Hitchcock's Psycho, which was later used as a tribute to that film in John Carpenter's Halloween (Dr. Sam Loomis, the Donald Pleasance character). Finally, in Scream, a film which tipped its hat to both predecessors, the boyfriend was called Billy Loomis.
Thus, I am the latest in a long line of spooky people - much to the worry of my girlfriend...

Mine is left over from my Lion King forum days. I wanted to have a slightly canonical name - something that fit in with the world of TLK. Simply enough, I picked "Paka", which is Kiswahili for "cat". Swahili and cats - I think that fits with TLK nicely enough.

Paka is now my universal user name. If Paka is unavailable, my second-choice is usually "Karakul" - from the Turkish term "karakulak" which means "black-eared". "Karakulak" is where caracals get their name from, and caracals are my favorite small cat species.

Life often leaves us standing bare, naked and dejected with a lost opportunity. Over the bleached bones and jumbled residues of numerous civilizations are written the pathetic words: "Too late."

I knew it! (Well the Psycho part anyway). I intended to ask you about this at one point.Loomis wrote:I've been using the screename Loomis for years as I was big horror movie fan a few years back.

Mines an existing email address I have. I set up a domain about 6-7 years ago "2099net.com" and was going to do an index of all of Marvel's 2099 Comics - the best comics Marvel has ever done (until the mass creator walkout when Marvel sacked the editor - eh fellow comic-geek Loomis?) Of course with my typical procrastination nothing was done until my domain lapsed and I saw no point in renewing it.
But I will finish my Looney Tunes site!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I've been Cinderelly over at Disneysites for a few years now. I guess i picked Cinderelly b/c i've always favored her character the most. Also, when i was little i used to watch the movie over and over until my mom got sick of it. As a result, i got the nick name Cinderelly by my mom...
Oh and i do have two terrible stepsisters and i do clean my fair share...
But i can't sing anywhere as good as her and i don't have a fairy godmother..... (though one would come in handy at times

Inigo: I do not mean to pry, but you don't by any chance happen to have six fingers on your right hand?
Westley: Do you always begin conversations this way?
Inigo: You seem a decent fellow. I hate to kill you.

I've posted on this site a long time, even at the old OneCenter board, under my name. One day, my mom looked over my shoulder and was flabbergasted that I was using my real name on the Internet (there were a lot of sick Internet predator stories on the news at the time), and saw that many other people has aliases, so she demanded that I make one up. I liked Monsters, Inc., and I liked the name Sulley. My mom is still suspicious of how this forum works, and sometimes calls it a chatroom, where she has forbidden me to go except with people I know, like from school or something. She'd kill me if she ever found out I posted this. She's sweet though, and I get a kick out of her paranoia.

It did actually cross my mind that 2099 referred to the short-lived Marvel series of 2099 comics. Only a comic geek would associate the two I guess....2099net wrote:

I always wondered what your screen name meant! And for Loomis I thought of Halloween right away, but I thought that may have actually been his real name, so I didn't mention it.2099net wrote:I knew it! (Well the Psycho part anyway).
