Yay! Long overdue! I wonder if the live-action film coming out around this same time urged/reminded them.

YAY! :pink: :pink: :pink: Long overdue.

I'm more likely to think Pat Carroll's passing put it on the Registry's mind. I wish it had been inducted while she was still alive. :(

Oh yeah, Pat Carroll's passing may have reminded them. I feel like it was either that or The Little Mermaid live-action trailer. And yeah, I wish it had been inducted while Pat Carroll was still alive, too. It's kinda sad. But maybe she knows it got inducted in Heaven!

So thrilled that Lady and the Tramp joins:

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Dumbo
Bambi
Cinderella
Sleeping Beauty

The Living Desert
Old Yeller
Mary Poppins

Steamboat Willie
Flowers and Trees
The Three Little Pigs
The Old Mill

on the National Film Registry!

Did I miss any from the Walt era?

Yay for TNBC and L&tT! Hopefully Aladdin, Dalmatians, or Alice will get chosen next. And Frozen for that matter, I think it's eligible now, too. :D

No animated film inducted this year, but a few good ones (like My Own Private Idaho). Spy Kids though, really??

Spy Kids being in there is surprising, I’ll admit

That's delightful to hear.

I'm also pleased to see "White Christmas" joining the ranks.

At least it's one of the good PIXAR films. Still, laughable seeing any of them there before Aladdin, Alice, or Dalmatians.

But I'm sure those three will make it in eventually, along with Frozen, Encanto, Zootopia, Lilo & Stitch, and TP&TF of the more recent films. And then Coraline and ParaNorman eventually. Have any DreamWorks besides Shrek made it? I could see TPoE, HTTYD, and perhaps KFP making it over the years.

The cultural impact that had the Aladdin, Alice and Dalmatians is bigger than The incredible's. Honestly I don't comprehend how they have not been included yet but as you said they'll do it soon or later.
