Does anyone know if the making of the Disney afternoon television renaissance book actually came out or still about to come out?

So, this book has officially come out in the U.S., Walt Disney's Cinderella: 75th Anniversary Edition:





This is just a taste of the lush, beautiful paintings, paired with beautiful, sweet writing. It's not so much a book for kids or people who have never seen the film. It tells the story like you already know it, but points out new perspectives. The last page shows an idyllic stretch of landscape of the blissful life Cinderella and her Prince will have.

Yet, it is not my most favorite Cinderella book. That would be the 2012 re-do of the Big Golden Book. That one tells the story most completely and with the best pictures. All it's really missing is a picture of the pumpkin and the mice getting the key. Then comes the Story of book, the Classic Storybook, and Cendrillon - Une princesse courageuse, or Cinderella, A Brave Princess. I made a bigger post about all of these here, unless the mods decide it should be in this thread. But I will say here, the new 75th anniversary book at least shows a picture of the dang pumpkin! And yes, some things like the coach are off-model, with the leaves and stuff but it is purposely done so to be it's own, unique interpretation, and I like it.

There's a new storybook collection coming out in Spain called Unforgettable Novels that features interesting covers. There are 53 books in total. Here's some of the covers.

Those are some stunning covers, for sure. I was surprised to see some titles that were included (The Good Dinosaur, Bolt, etc.) while others (Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, etc.) were not.

I love all those creative covers, even though Cinderella's has an idea already used originally by the first Broadway production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella. I think the best one was Beauty and the Beast's. Did they do Pinocchio?

The Jungle Book was included, actually. Its cover was simply not up on the site. Peter Pan's omission is indeed odd though.

I'm from Spain and this collection came out like on year ago or more. The books are all right, they are like novelizations from the movies with concept arts, backgrounds etc. I have Snow White, The lion king, Frozen, Pocahontas, Inside out and Beauty and the Beat. They are all right but they release a book per week so it's very expensive to complete the collection. They remind me to the Disney Animated classics collection but these ones are a little bit longer and some of them have less artworks inside.

Well, those covers were classy and pretty. But again, it`s surprising to see Wish among them. Even more surprising was Pocahontas and Hunchback.

Pocahontas and Hunchback are popular classics here and they have been included in all the book collections released here including the audio books and one collection released recently for toddlers. I can't find any good reason to exclude them. In the audio books collection they even included sequels like TLM2 and BATB2.
I saw the wish one the other day but honestly is not very appealing to me. Wish is a very recent movie and it's very easy to find the artworks that the book includes in "the art of Wish" or in the internet. These kind of collections have more sense with old movies because it's more hard to find information and artworks about them.

A French Disney historian and author named Christian Renaut did polls to see what were voted the best parts of Walt Disney's films, and then wrote extensively and deeply about them in three books. Volume one is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, and Fantasia. Volume two is Dumbo, Bambi, Saludos Amigos, Make Mine Music, Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland. Volume three is Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone, Mary Poppins, and The Jungle Book.

I bought volume 2 to read about Cinderella specifically, but I have been reading the whole book and it is one amazing, DEEP dive! I have just to finish the Cinderella and Alice in Wonderland parts, I learned about all the other movies that come before them that are in the book, too. I was so excited to learn about Cinderella, like how Ilene Woods could relate to Cinderella so well because her mother, while not cruel, pushed her to do show business when she wanted to be an English teacher, and she actually cried when she recorded the parts for when the stepsisters destroy her gown, and the reason Cinderella is in the specific position she's in crying on the bench in the garden after that part is, that place was where she was last happy, with her father, and she is in the same position as when she cried on her father's death bed!

I suggest you guys buy his books if you like any of Walt's features a good amount!

I didn’t know anything about what you revealed about the making of Cinderella.
Did I ever tell you I met Ilene Woods and got her autograph on a Cinderella poster from the 1965 rerelease?
It was in 2000 and she was appearing in a local collectibles shop in Seattle to promote the 50th Anniversary of the film.
She was so sweet and charming and just everything you’d hope Cinderella and Ms Woods would be!
She was 71 then and still absolutely lovely.
The only Disney legend I’ll probably ever meet…
Although I did see Susan Egan (Megara) on Broadway as Sally Bowles in the 1998 revival of Cabaret. She was mesmerizing especially singing the title number…This was around 1999-2000.
