According to scooper Daniel Richtman, Disney now has plans to make a movie called Aurora, which will be a reimagining of Sleepy Beauty. The twist is that the film will reportedly be set in Mexico.

Oh my God. Mexico? Really? And no, don`t get me wrong, cause I have nothing against Mexico or it`s culture. But to set the story in Mexico?

After how cheap and fanficky Maleficent was, I was hoping for a live action treatment of Sleeping Beauty that was superior and could redeem it. But obviously this version is not going be the one. Unfortunately...

Legit thought this was the third Maleficent movie. Not sure if this is better or worse.

But it would definitely go up in my estimation if this was still a period piece. The only "modern fairy-tale" I've halfway liked was the first "A Cinderella Story" movie, which is not the strongest character reference ...

Best case scenario? It takes the HBO Family Happily Ever After series approach and this movie ends up being a story set in some kind of medieval Mexican setting like the HEA Cinderella episode was.

I thought this could be the more straight adaptation of Sleeping Beauty that I thought would happen eventually down thr line... A shame. Mexico, just... :lol:
