I wish they had made My Fair Lady in 1966 and cast Julie Andrews. I like Audrey Hepburn but this was Julie Andrews' role and that way we could have gotten a perfect trilogy of musicals starring Julie Andrews: Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music and My Fair Lady.

And I completely believe they would have cast her after The Sound of Music. At least we have the original soundtrack with Andrews.

I have both recordings of Julie in MFL, the 1956 OBC and the 1959 London Cast.
They’re both worth having.

Thank you for all your answers about Julie in My Fair Lady, Brelly, Farerb, and carolinakid. I want to see that Austrailian production, Brelly, and I also completely agree with your post, Farerb. Thank God we have those recordings, carolinakid.

This came out of left field!

Julie Andrews is the narrator of a new podcast called “Jane Austen Stories”!

Here’s the description:
Jane Austen Stories is the new show from the Noiser podcast network, narrated by Dame Julie Andrews.

Season One begins with Julie reading an all-time classic of English literature, Pride and Prejudice, in its original masterful form.

Join us twice a week as we walk grand estates, take tea with well-dressed gentlewomen, and enter ballrooms to dance with the great and good of the county. But in this tranquil corner of England, not everything is quite as it appears. Can our heroine Elizabeth navigate a world of secrets and simmering passions? Can the Bennet family avoid scandal and destitution? And is the mysterious Mr Darcy as dastardly as he seems?

Hit follow to get new episodes of Jane Austen Stories every Tuesday and Friday.
I need more details… it sounds like it’s basically a free audiobook recording of Pride and Prejudice, narrated by Julie Andrews??? With the potential for more Austen novel narrated by Julie?? I cannot wait!! Not exactly sure when the first episode drops, either, but I’m already subscribed!

Happy 90th Birthday, Dame Julie!!! :pink: :pink: :pink:

Lots of tributes going up for Julie Andrews’ landmark birthday. Additionally, the first episode of Julie reading Pride and Prejudice was released yesterday— it’s an absolute treat, I highly recommend it. Apple Podcasts link: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/j ... 0728012936
