How are they going to recreate the Disney Digital 3D effect on a Blu-Ray disc? Anyone know?

I'm really not sure, but I would assume it'd come with maybe 2 3D glasses and then it'd be a viewing option (like the whole widescreen or fullscreen option on some dvds).

This is really awesome news all around, I would love to get this Blu-ray. I just hope that everything on the 2-disc set would be on the Blu-ray.

Oh cool I'm glad everyone is following my lead in supporting Bluray this means that I can expect more Disney movies to get released on the new format !

Recently I bought Nightmare Before Christmas on Ultra HD (2023 release). As the UHD only presents the movie, all the extras are on the Blu-ray that is included in the package.

The old Blu-ray was labelled Collector’s Edition (2008), and the new one is Sing a long Edition (apparently from 2013). I thought I could sell the older blu-ray to avoid unnecessary duplicates. (Both discs are Scandinavian editions.)

However, after examining and comparing the Blu-rays, it became obvious that the older BD is a keeper. Why? The older disc (A) has more bonus features — especially the early film Vincent (1982) and some other minor extras.

Also (B) the transfer of the short film Frankenweenie (1984) is better on the older disc. It almost seems as if the older disc has a digital transfer and the newer disc an analogue transfer (suffering from interlacing artefacts). Both are Standard Definition (480i60), though.

To demonstrate this, I created a small video comparison:

The extra bonus features is why I made sure to get that older release on Disney Movie Rewards before the site went under.
