Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
I agree with you all. The poster is not particularly impressive at all. It looks cheap and fan-made.
Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
I like it, it looks very epic...like there's going to be an exciting face-off between the two characters. Does that actually happen in the musical? I've never seen it.
I'm going to London in June, and planning on seeing the West End production.

I love the poster, I agree with Vlad it looks epic. It was also pointed out to me the empty space makes a "W" like the shadows in the very first film's poster.

They have some problems in the second act and they “fight” but not too much. It's more political.

Teaser for the second film out since last night! Ooooh, I love it! I am not sold on Glinda's wedding dress, but it kinda makes sense she'd have something boring for a love that wasn't real? A plain, boring look on love? I love every other costume. I suspect one of those purplish pink things with a fullness to the back is her ballgown. I forgot Elphaba comes back for the monkeys and that's why they chased her at the end of the first film and later she corrals them to her side. This looks so visually amazing, it should be an amazing movie!

I loved it, too. I've been listening to that 10 second clip of the chorus of "For Good" on repeat the past two days. They did such a phenomenal job making the music sound different, but still so good... I wish it wasn't so far away, I might see this one in theaters a couple of times.
I've been seeing more movies these days since my dog passed away, so I'll probably go see HTTYD or the Andrew Randells movie soon, and can't wait to hear the trailer in theaters. <3

Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"

Divinity, I am so sorry about your dog. I did not even know you had a dog. It's probably best to be private on the internet, but if you shared a dog pic and that you had a dog I don't think it would be so risky. What was their name?
I am so glad you also love the trailer and music, I agree with your post. I am too poor to go to the movies lol but I will def make the exception for this film like I did for part 1.

I love this new poster. This Glinda's purple gown is even better than the pink one. It's the perfect mix of the blue and the pink one.

They also released two new posters

It seems that the new gown that Glinda wears in this poster is from "Thank goodness". In some videos that were filtered a few months ago she wears the purple / blue one but it seems that she will make like a tour during this song wearing different gowns.

Thank you for explaining, Thumper! I was wondering how that unusual, but beautiful gown would fit in!

The purple one is going to be the one that she wears during big part of the film but honestly I'm surprise about how many other gowns she has.Disney Duster wrote: ↑Mon Aug 11, 2025 11:06 pm Thank you for explaining, Thumper! I was wondering how that unusual, but beautiful gown would fit in!

Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
THE WICKED: FOR GOOD FINAL TRAILER IS HERE!!!
Oooooh it looks even better than the first movie, and I almost teared at the "Look at me" part, with the lines combined with Glinda's starting the song with, "I've heard it said.."! All the costume and production designs are so beautiful! The only thing wrong - sigh, I wanted Glinda in pink when she meets Dorothy, because she is in pink in both the 1939 MGM movie and the Wicked book at that part.

Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
In the broadway musical she wears the blue one when she meets Dorothy so maybe they wanted to make a tribute to the original production. In my opinion it goes better with the plot of the second act because this part of the show is more sad and dark.
However I love the new outfit. Glinda looks so elegant and classical with this gown!

But if they wanted to make a tribute to the Broadway production, they should have had her in the blue dress in Part 1 when we first see her. Then save the pink dress for the Dorothy parts in For Good. And it's true, this second part is more dark and sad, but then have Glinda in the sadder blue dress at the end of this movie, where she puts it on for her Goodbye to Elphaba, instead of the pink one that they are having her say Goodbye in!
But, yes, Glinda looks great and elegant in this blue dress.

Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
Maybe they used the pink gown in the first movie to make it more marketable and to make the movie attractive for the people who don't know the musical. Now that they have their attention they can make more things that remember to the original stage production.Disney Duster wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 11:25 pm But if they wanted to make a tribute to the Broadway production, they should have had her in the blue dress in Part 1 when we first see her. In my opinion making Glinda wear the pink gown at the end of the movie is a smart movement. She's going to be devastated by then and wearing a cheerful color must be hard for her. The scenes when she's putting the crown and the scepter must be from the end of the movie.
One thing that I don't understand is why in the staircase scene she wears the pink gown, the grimmarie and she doesn't wear the crown and the scepter. This scene was one of the first official sneak peak of the movie and also appears in the trailer. We'll guess it in the movie I suppose.

Re: Wicked: The Musical: The Movie
Ok, Thumper, I do understand your opinion and you make good points. Very valid points.
But, I still wish it was done my way. I just would prefer that.
I also don't get why we saw her in the pink dress in those initial photos and if she will wear it when she says Goodbye to Elphaba. Like you said though, I guess we'll see when the movie comes out.
