Oh, those are beautiful. And except for Cinderella and the Prince, all the characters are pretty much on model.

Fun short, I think the animation could have used a bit more...something though. Its very pose to pose, bounce, antic, move to next pose, repeat for each action. Its a bit repetitive.

it looks very limited animation vs the more fluidity and expressive that one sees in the film.

well one can argue that its a talking paper Cinderella so it vibes, lol.

Its not just that its limited animation, I think they could have done better, with the same amount of frames.

Thanks for posting the short, Dis2d! I loved it! Yes, the animation is not the best but Disney doesn't have super great 2D animators available to do every project.

I've been watching a computation about the different restorations that the movie has and it looks weird to me. The 1992 VHS must be the 1995 restoration, isn't it? Did this version have a complete whole restoration? In this case was like the one in the video? The background seems lost in some scenes. I had the Spanish 1995 VHS but honestly I don't remember if the colors were accurate to the original material.

Out of those 5 versions, the 1988 looked best to me. I thought Cinderella was restored in 1995 and I wonder if the person labeled it 1992 wrongly. I know the 2nd time the film was on VHS, with a different cover than the first release, was the first time the film was restored, and it was either 1992 or 1995. Get the 4K with Blu-ray though, that was the 2nd time it was restored and is probably the truest version!

Thanks Duster! You are really kind. I already have the 4K version but I wanted the american 1995 VHS. I tried to get the collector's edition a few months ago but the seller didn't send it to me so I bought yesterday the normal one. I also have the Spanish one and this was the version that I watched when I was a child but I can't remember how it looked. I suppose that I should get a VHS to watch it again!

Thanks Thumper! So you wanted that Walt Disney's Masterpiece Collector's Edition of the 1995 one? I got the VHS version of that, it came in a big box meant to look lik a storybook. It came with lithographs showing the concept art, pencil drawing, ink drawing, and cel of Cinderella just transformed. Do you not have your Spanish 1995 VHS anymore to watch?

The version that you are talking about was the one that I tried to get some months ago but the seller didn't send it to me so I get the basic masterpiece edition 2 days ago.
Yes! I still have the 1995 Spanish edition but I need the VHS player to watch it again. I think I have one somewhere but I don't know where, I have to search for it!

I am so sorry the seller didn't send you the package! Why? I do also hope you find your VHS player.

For the 4K, when it was coming out I rewatched my 1988 and 1995 VHS's within the same day to compare them to each other, and then I tried to remember what they looked like to compare to the 4K when it finally came out. When I watch the film now I just put on the Disney+ or Amazon Prime newly restored 4K version.

I watch the movie in 4K too since it was released. The difference with the previous one is overwhelming.
My Masterpiece VHS is on its way. I can't wait to own it :mickana: :mickana:

Did you get your Masterpiece VHS, Thumper? What's the cover like?

I wanted to post about how Sideshow and Iron Studios is making a 1:10 Art Scale (whatever that means) Cinderella statue, collector's edition with her in her ballgown, mice, and pumpkins, and a deluxe edition also adding the coach. Her dress looks blue in most pictures but I have seen it look silver in other pictures. The Collector Edition is $265 and the Deluxe Edition is $1,000. I won't be getting either but boy are they nice to look at.

Collector Edition (looks silver but I've also seen it look blue):

Thanks Sotiris! Cinderella looks really intense in that scene in her pink dress, and Lady Tremaine in her scene. Their eyes!

Yes Duster I received my 1995 masterpiece US VHS! It came great with the publicity inside but it smells to humidity so I've been trying to remove the odor.

Andreas Deja wrote:These are clean up studies for Frank Thomas' character of Lady Tremaine in Cinderella. I don't know who the artist is, but these poses (except her head turn) are based on Frank's brilliant animation. A difficult character to animate, and equally difficult to clean up, because of realistic subtleties involved. When Walt asked Frank to take on this assignment, he thought: Poor me! But the more he got involved with her personality and her voice recordings by Eleanor Audley, the more he understood just how much to underplay her movements in order to get a very powerful performance. One of Disney's best villains.
