I recently saw Night After Night (1932) and Stage Door (1937) on TCM. Liked them both.
My boyfriend and I watched Sinners in the theater last month. We hated it. Even the vampire parts weren’t very good.

I had heard Sinners was good. Now I'll stay away unless someone I know really wants to see it.

I also take back my comment that the 2024 Nosferatu look wasn't scary enough. I recently saw some of the original again and the new look is sometimes scarier, even with the mustache.

I’m not a comic movie person. When I was a kid, I was into the Tobey Maguire Spider Man movies and Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight was a seminal experience for me as a budding cinephile. But outside of that, the whole MCU passed me by (I didn’t like the first Captain America movie and after that I didn’t bother to keep up with the rest of the universe) and what I’ve seen from DC (Joker, The Batman) hasn’t really elicited strong positive reactions from me, either. So my profile as a moviegoer is not really a comic movie person.

But I was intrigued by the Superman trailer and wanted to check this one out. And the whole time I was watching it, I kept thinking to myself, “wow, I thought I’d like it but I didn’t think I’d like it this much!”

I’m not well versed in Superman lore, but it seems to me that this character isn’t intended to be deeply complicated. This Superman felt like a plainly good person existing in a complicated world. It was action packed, it had small human moments, it had humor, it had romance, it had the characters you expect played perfectly. It had Krypto!

I just had such a good time— it’s the kind of movie that reminds you of what our ideals used to be. Loved it.

I saw Weapons a couple days ago and loved it!!

I was waffling on seeing it until I was spoiled (this was the only thing I was spoiled on about this movie…) about its horror subgenre: witches. Then, I had to see it and it did not disappoint.

I don’t think I’d ever seen any horror film in theaters until Nosferatu back in December. Since then I’ve also seen Sinners (another great movie btw) and now Weapons. Horror has really become a must-see genre now… I’m interested and excited to see how the art form continues to develop from here. Also still loving Interview With the Vampire series on AMC.

I ordered the Sunset Boulevard 4K Blu-ray on Amazon, it will be my first time watching it. I read nothing but good things about it.

I am glad Superman was good, Brelly. I may watch it.
