The show's not out yet. It premieres June 27. Yes, there will be songs in it.Disney's Divinity wrote: ↑Fri May 17, 2024 6:41 pm Oh, is this show already out? I might put it on in the background one day then just to see. Were there any musical numbers (I'm guessing no, just thought I'd ask).

Re: Ariel (Disney Junior)
I saw this was on Disney+ this morning and decided to skim through to see the Ursula parts and songs. I was immediately confused because all the "episodes" are only 2 minutes long? What in the world? I thought this was going to be a TV series for the pre-schooler age like the Alice show. I can't see this being satisfying when there's really no content here, more like a bunch of commercials you could watch on a loop? I checked the Alice show to be sure, but I was right, that show was the normal half-hour setup.
I wonder if it might have to do with them cutting down on Disney+ content. Just like the Moana stuff got thrown together into a movie, maybe they cut this as it got started and so this ended up as short cuts rather than a full-fledged show. I didn't see any songs and Ursula only appeared once, I think? I don't recall seeing Flotsam & Jetsam even though they were a part of the theme song video that was on YouTube. At least there was an undersea palace.
EDIT: Scrolled up after posting and saw Sotiris' post.
I wonder why this came out before the show itself?

The Lego sets are now available in Europe. Lego releases merchandise soon. I don't understand why are they allowed to do that.

I think this is the first meetable version of Ariel that is both A) not a face character, and B) can be mobile with her tail. It’s such a unique design, I love it.

Thought it was weird that they'd have three Ariels available to meet, but from what I've researched, it looks like they've retired live-action Ariel. Shame. Even if the movie didn't gross as much as they'd wanted, it was still nice to meet this version of the character. I'd thought they'd at least keep her up until we got to meet live-action Snow White.

Re: Ariel (Disney Junior)
PatchofBlue, are you talking about Disneyland? I just looked up live action Ariel and she is still meeting in Florida.
It’s interesting you bring this up… I didn’t pay attention before, but according to the article, it looks like Disney Jr Ariel is only coming to CA, not FL. There is a Disney Jr dance show at DHS that you would think might have Disney Jr Ariel, but they will have to retire live action Ariel from that park before they bring her there. They won’t have two versions of the same character meeting at the same time in the same park.

LA films are like kleenex. You use them once and after that they go to the paper bin. It's a matter of time to remove her from all the parks. The same is going to happen with this one.PatchofBlue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 11:42 am Thought it was weird that they'd have three Ariels available to meet, but from what I've researched, it looks like they've retired live-action Ariel. Re: Ariel (Disney Junior)
Yeah. I was referring to Disneyland and just projecting. I didn't see her on the official Disneyland site and assumed Disney World was the same I guess. You'll have to pardon my West Coat bias lol.
Yeah, Disney has a track record of disposing of these remakes once they leave the box office (something I have mixed feelings about), but Disney also put out more effort with turning THIS remake into a moment. We never exactly got to meet Cinderella or Belle in their live-action outfits. I think the closest we got was when we briefly got to see Jolie's Maleficent at the Disney Parks for some special event. I seemed to recall something about maybe seeing Depp's Mad Hatter at the parks, but a quick Google search didn't reveal anything, so I guess I must have imagined it.
I've never wanted these remakes to supplant the animated films, and certainly most of them don't come within handholding distance of their source material, but neither does it seem totally right that Disney would drop these huge projects only for them to just evaporate without a ripple. I'd be fine if LA Ariel was one of those rare characters who comes out for surprise Meet & Greets or something.

Re: Ariel (Disney Junior)
They thought that LA Ariel was going to be one of their biggest success of all time and they thought that she would have been a historic character because she breaked all the molds.
The movie flopped and I think that they tried to make it successful by all the possible ways. USA parks are the only places where you can meet the character. The rest of the parks around the world don't have her. In Paris I think that she appeared when the movie was released. After that she has never been out again.
I had the chance to meet her at WDW last year and I didn't. I regret it too much!

Well at least somebody is watching it. Here in Spain it doesn't seem to be really popular. There are only toys that don't sell well. No books, no stationary and no other stuff.

Technically speaking, the show wasn't renewed. Disney ordered two seasons from the start. If it were to go beyond that, then it would really have been renewed.Thumper_93 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 24, 2025 3:20 amWell at least somebody is watching it.
