Hey Duster, I also went ahead and ordered the A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes book, cause I saw the artwork inside and thought it was super cute. It's basically the story, but with the lyrics of the songs on each page, right?Disney Duster wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 1:45 am
So, I got both the Disney Cinderella Once Upon a Time Treasury and Disney Cinderella A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes little golden books. I was disappointed to realize I already had the art inside two of the Treasury books, the 1950 and 1998 film retelling illustrations, in previous books I own. I was hoping the last book would have illustrations in the sams style, or even be exactly the same illustrations as those in the 2012/2016 books such as the "Story of" princess collection books. Oh well. At least now I have the Cinderella's Friends book, even though I really do not care about that story. But the Dream is a Wish book has beautiful new illustrations! And interestingly there are some references in it to the 1950 book, like Cinderella's vanity, the pumpkin transformation, and the outfits of the guests at the ball. It is a book I was very glad to get. It even has some motifs from the film's opening titles! It is a lovely book, so I did get something great for the 75th anniversary so far...Funko Pops and perhaps a doll to come!

The book looks interesting, but they should have saved it for next year and had it cover TS5 as well.

Re: Disney Books
I’m currently reading After Disney.
I’m up to Chapter 9. Not the most exciting read, but it has some interesting tidbits especially regarding how Roy E Disney basically stabbed Ron Miller in the back.
The Black Cauldron material is fascinating too.
Next up for me: Directing at Disney and Disney In Between: The Lost Years

Re: Disney Books
Posted this in the Cinderella thread, but I had talked about the book coming out here first, so: I got my Disney Cinderella Pop-Up book! It is mostly a very wonderful and near-perfect book. I was disappointed knowing I'd only get 5 pop-ups at first, but the choices for the pop-ups was perfect. It just loses a few points by recycling past pop -ups and illustrations. The Disney Princess pop-up book Brelly has has virtually the same dress transformation pop-up, and the Princess one did jt better! Also a repeat of Mathew Reinhart's own version of Cinderella in the way the coach pop-up was done. Also, many images were just slight redesigns of either the original film's stills or other book images, and even images from scenes repurposed for other scenes they were not from (like drawing Cinderella's "Oh I understand" scene as when she sees her pink mice dress...?!). Still, beautiful book I am glad to have. The palace ball pop-up was amazing.

Re: Disney Books
Thank you for mentioning that TBC is part of that book; I had wanted to get it before, but I'm definitely buying it now. Disney In Between: The Lost Years is a great read, and also has neat TBC info too. Directing at Disney is sitting on my table but I haven't read it yet.carolinakid wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 5:13 am I’m currently reading After Disney.

Thanks, BC85!
I dream of the day a restored Black Cauldron is made available.
Thanks for recommending The Lost Years.
I’m sure some of the BC material will be repeated, but I don’t mind...

I also got the Cinderella Pop-up, Duster. Just a few days ago, actually, and you're so right, it's gorgeous.Disney Duster wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 7:30 am Posted this in the Cinderella thread, but I had talked about the book coming out here first, so: I got my Disney Cinderella Pop-Up book! Let's just see how the upcoming book will fare.
I'm sure it will be beautiful, too. The art on the cover is amazing.

Re: Disney Books
Hey guys, I found a new collection of Disney coloring books in France, which I think are pretty cool.
It's a series called Coloriages mystères Disney. I got two copies, and started working on them. I thought it was going to be easy, but boy, are they complicated
But once you get used to them, it's actually quite relaxing and fun.
This is an example of what a page looks like.

Re: Disney Books
Damn, that looks hard! At first I thought it was some abstract image, then I realized it was Snow White and a horse.

Re: Disney Books
May someone please let me know what the other supposed art and making up Disney books are besides the upcoming Fantasia that’s due out this November 2025? Because supposedly it’s the third one they did, so I’m wondering what the other two are?

Re: Disney Books
What a beautiful cover of Ariel. It was a well-made picture.
However, forgive me if this has been posted before, but Ron Clements`s biography has been delayed to next Summer: [url]https://www.amazon.com/Making-Disney-Ma ... 368023479/

Re: Disney Books
They gave Ariel bags under her eyes and made her nose and chin too big. It looks like a mad magazine cover or something. (and not in a good way, I actually like mad art, but its definitely not what they should be going for here)
Re: Disney Books
There is one for Snow White, Pinnochio and Fun and Fancy Free which I think was only available through one shop (can’t remember which one). I have Snow White and Pinnochio, both are very good.Patricier21 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 11, 2025 1:27 am May someone please let me know what the other supposed art and making up Disney books are besides the upcoming Fantasia that’s due out this November 2025? Re: Disney Books
I ordered all 3 Kaufman books (Snow White, Pinocchio and Fun and Fancy Free as well as his book on the True-Life Adventures) from Amazon.
I pre-ordered his Fantasia book from Amazon also.
