Source: http://ew.com/tv/2018/05/04/patton-oswa ... le-sequel/โI donโt want there to be a sequel just to do a sequel. I want it to be if Brad Bird comes up with a truly great story. Then weโll do it,โ Patton explains, pointing out the 14-year gap between Birdโs The Incredibles and its upcoming sequel.

Patton Oswalt was asked about the possibility of a sequel to Ratatouille. Here's what he had to say.

Re: Ratatouille 2?
I would watch a sequel, but I can't think of anything else they could do with these characters at all? Maybe a love story where Remy finds a mate, and Linguini/Colette have a child or something. *shrug*

Re: Ratatouille 2?
The be honest, I feel that concepts like Ratatouille only works as a single movie.
Re: Ratatouille 2?
I think it is admirable of him to speak out against recycling past efforts. Thats not to say that Disney needs his permission to continue their sequelitus

I really hope that with a new management, there will be the end of the endless cicle of sequels. There might be some, but not as much as now.

Source: https://deadline.com/2019/12/patton-osw ... 202804311/Q: You recently tweeted your support for the idea of a Ratatouille series. Would you ever do it? Or a film sequel?
Patton Oswalt: Oh absolutely. Any sequel to Ratatouille hinges on Brad Bird coming up with an idea that he likes and would want to pursue. I love that Pixar goes with the pace of the creators. They wait until something amazing happens. So, if he drew up something, that would mean that a truly big inspiration had hit him and he wants to do it. I would absolutely run and do that.
Source: https://collider.com/ratatouille-patton ... brad-bird/"You just said the key to it," Oswalt responded when asked if he'd return if Bird found a way to continue the story. "The world where that exists is where Brad thinks of a great idea, and until he does that, it's not gonna happen. So I'm totally happy with no sequel unless he comes up with something amazing. And I trust in Brad."

Re: Ratatouille 2?
I can't imagine what there possibly could be for a sequel but I do love the original so if Brad Bird did come up with a great idea, I'd be all for it.

Ratatouille 2?
https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2025/6 ... -the-worksโRatatouille 2โ Is in the Works
On the latest episode of The Hot Mic, Jeff Sneider revealed that Pixar is developing a sequel to โRatatouille.โ Reps denied it at the time, but that was long agoโwell before Pixarโs current wave of sequelitis took hold.
Yes, nearly two decades after Remy first stirred his way into the kitchen, the beloved Parisian rat chef is apparently getting a second course.
Sneider, whoโs been consistently ahead of the curve with industry scoops, seems to hint that the project is in early development over at Pixar. Regardless, the mere existence of the sequel confirms what many in the industry have long suspected: Pixar is going back to the well. Again.
This is yet another in a growing trend for Pixar, which has been leaning harder than ever into sequels and legacy IP. โInside Out 2โ dominated last yearโs global box office, crossing the $1.7 Billion mark, and up next are โToy Story 5,โ โIncredibles 3,โ โCoco 2โโ itโs clear Pixar has decided its future might just depend on the past.
And honestly? It makes sense. Their recent originals (โElemental,โ โOnward,โ โLuca,โ โTurning Red,โ โElioโ) may have their fans, but none have quite recaptured the cultural cachet โ or financial dominance โ of Pixarโs 2000s golden age. Only โCocoโ truly stuck the landing.
Combine that with Disneyโs streaming-era identity crisis and a theatrical audience thatโs grown increasingly sequel-hungry, and the studioโs current strategy starts to look less like nostalgia-bait and more like survival.
Still, โRatatouilleโ is a sacred cow. Brad Birdโs 2007 film is considered by many โ this site included โ to be among Pixarโs finest, a work of visual and emotional elegance that only deepened with time. The idea of returning to that world is dangerous. Thereโs no word yet if Bird is involved, and without him, itโs hard not to wonder if the sequel risks missing the originalโs quiet, beating heart in favor of something louder, broader, safer.

Here's what the insider said exactly.

Re: Ratatouille 2?
...

Dont really mind if other Pixar movies get sequels (as they kinda expand naturally like Incredibles or Inside Out) but Ratatouille was the only one i really really didnt want a sequel for (and maybe Up). Its such a charming standalone movie
Trigger warning: Sarcasm
The only way a Ratatouille sequel could be fresh is if the whole World would find out that Remy is the secret cook and instead of killing him off, the whole World sees him as a viral attractation and he becomes instantly famous. Remy loves his new life in the spotlight, and traveling 1st class wirh his old friends Lamborghini and Cotlette, who now serve as his assistants. The fame changed Rat however... will Remy learn the true values of what it means to be a Chef rat again or will the spotlight change who he is deep inside his vulnerable authentic one of a kind core?????

Omg u guys this sounds soo cool and energetic we should already greenlight more sequels! Ratatouille 3: Burnt Kitchen, Ratatouille 4: Kitchen impossible (Remy becomes a secret spy that works for the FBI while having to serve Cavier, will he survive the double life pressure????

Besides Bugs Life, Ratatouille is probably the most casual Pixar movie, really grounded with realism (i mean the Rats cant even talk to humans etc.) so expansions to sequels are really limited with this one...
