To be honest, the Japanese trailer was fine. But there was nothing distinctive about it, as it offered few new clips or shots. But since Japanese trailers are usually more serious, it`s surprising how this trailer wasn`t particularly subdued, compared to it`s American counterpart.

Well, at least the TV spot had a few shots. Despite how it`s remarkable how most of the trailers and TV spots haven`t revealed more footage that we haven`t seen already.

It's a sign of the times that I am actually crossing my fingers for this movie, even as I remain totally unsold on the product itself.

The scene may just be condensed for advertising or something, but I felt like the pacing of the scene was way off. Doesn't bode too well.

I actually do find Lilo endearing here, though, even if she doesn't quite catch the "weird girl" vibes that animated Lilo did so well.

I’m really surprised he was allowed to say that. I assume boring Pleakley was a decision made by the higher ups due to the unfortunate current political climate.

My expectations are set that this won’t be a masterpiece, but it will be entertaining. I’m looking forward to it.

To be honest, the scene was cute enough and a little distinctive from it`s predecessor. However, it`s remarkable how Nani wasn`t a part of this scene. And how Stitch is essentially much more smaller than Lilo, compared to how he was in the animated version.

Which misses the entire point of the character, frankly. In the original, she was a quirky girl who struggled to fit in and make friends, partially because of her unique personality and partially because her familial trauma. That's why she needed Stitch so badly. Here, she's your average sweet little kid. Not only that makes her a blander character, but make her struggles to socialize with her peers less believable and her need for Stitch less dire.

She doesn't remind me to Lilo. I understand that she's a little girl and you can't ask her to make a role with some gestures from the animated one like you can ask it to an adult but that's not the problem. The problem is that in this scene she doesn't act good. I also can't understand why Stitch looks so bad. I thought that it was a problem only present in the posters but it seems that the CGI looks unrealistic in the movie too.
Don't have any kind of faith in this.

I wonder why they wouldn't let Pleakley be in a dress? He is in the original already? TBH, I always found Pleakley to be annoying, but the part where he's dressed as a woman at the luau and Stitch has his head in his mouth is one of the funnier moments in the movie.

They made Ursula more boring in the remake, too. It's funny that they have acted as if the new versions are more progressive or something, but often they're the opposite.

It was revealed in this new featurette that Alan Silvestri will not be doing the score for the remake. This is strange given Silverstri went on record saying he would love to come back and score the remake. That tells me Disney did not offer him the position. Not cool, Disney.

Well, regarding the clips and the featurettes, I like how they vary from the animated predecessor in some ways. I like that Stitch is influenced by a dog for wanting to surf. And it`s a nice change that Nani doesn`t seem to bother to watch Stitch when he`s connected to the vinyl record player. And frankly, Maia Kealoha looked better with a ponytail than with her hair down. While I like the new renditions of the Hawaiian songs from the animated feature, they still feel inferior to their counterparts. However, it was nice to see Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu again, despite how he clearly looks radically different than before (no offense). The new rendition of Burning Love is cute enough, despite how it`s noteworthy that it`s going to be sung by a male child this time (and by none other than Bruno Mars`nephews). At least Gantu`s spaceship looked good. And it`s remarkable how the guy who always looses his ice cream is clearly going to be Hawaiian this time.

Speaking of which, since these remakes have been accused (in some cases) for fixing the errors of their animated predecessors, I wonder if this remake will do that. Despite how the original Lilo & Stitch never was particularly criticized.

Yeah, it`s truly strange and peculiar! And not to mention not remarkable. He deserved to rescore the soundtrack. At least Alan Menken got to work on the remakes of his work, regardless of how he`s been dismissed by Walt Disney Feature Animation after Tangled and Ralph Breaks the Internet.

Yes, but Menken was required to work with others on Aladdin and TLM. Of course, the partnership worked out well on the former, not so much the latter.

I'm surprised they didn't let him come back since Sanders is also back unlike people like M&C, Hahn, etc. with other remakes. I can't recall, did Hans Zimmer come back for TLK remake?

Anyway, they said on American Idol the past week that Iam Tongi will be the performer of "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" in this. Good choice. Too bad the film wasn't out already, I wanted something to see in theaters yesterday, but there's nothing very interesting out right now.
