Disney Magic Kingdoms game has added all the secondary characters to the game. Honestly I don't know who wants to add these characters to their collection.

If it's not baroque, don't fix it.

I use to play yes! But I didn't care much about Moana's event. These characters are not attractive to me.Vlad wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 8:50 amOh, you play the game, too?Thumper_93 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 4:33 am Disney Magic Kingdoms game has added all the secondary characters to the game. Re: Moana 2
I still play it, still enjoy the events, but it seems it's impossible to pass them, without spending any money, which I refuse to do. I even played the Moana 2 event, it was fun, but the token drops were unbelievably low.

Not sure why anyone would want to work for WB these days, with most of their stuff getting written off for tax reasons.

Hollywood Can’t Survive Without Animation. So Why Won’t the Industry Respect It?
https://variety.com/2026/film/awards/ho ... DHpGrEwdUg
That’s the paradox at the center of animation in 2026: The medium has never mattered more to Hollywood’s bottom line. Universal and Illumination’s “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” became the first film to cross $1 billion worldwide this year. Pixar‘s spring release “Hoppers” scored the biggest opening for an original Pixar movie since 2017’s “Coco.” And “Toy Story 5” capped the run with a $160 million domestic launch ($312 million worldwide), the best debut of any film this year and the cornerstone of Pixar’s comeback. It’s currently sitting at $879 million globally heading into its fifth weekend, and is destined to be another billion-dollar movie of 2026.
In the nearly five decades that domestic grosses have been tracked, an animated film has finished the year as the No. 1 release just seven times, beginning with Disney’s “Aladdin” in 1992. Now the medium is having an unprecedented run, with “Inside Out 2” and “Zootopia 2” topping the last two calendar years (a first for animated movies to lead the box office for two consecutive years) and the latter becoming the highest-grossing animated film ever domestically. “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” is leading 2026 so far and is the only film to cross $1 billion. Setting aside the 2020 and 2021 pandemic seasons, which emptied theaters of family films, animated features have made up about 20% of the year’s 10 top-grossing releases over the past decade. And yet, the artists who make these movies have rarely felt less valued: In May 2024, Pixar cut 14% of its staff — roughly 175 employees. Netflix restructured its animation unit in 2023, eliminating jobs and halting two films in preproduction.
One animator put it plainly: “You have no idea how frustrating it is to see press release after press release touting how much money our animated film made and how many nominations we got; then [the studio] turns to people who have worked here forever and says, ‘We don’t need you anymore.’”
On a related note, I'm surprised at how many of my remaining most anticipated films for this year are animated. In addition to Disney's HEXED, I'm also tracking "Forgotten Island" and "Wildwood" ("Ray Gunn" is also a remaining question mark) and might be surprised by many more. I wasn't really paying attention to "The Wild Robot" until like a month before its release, and that became one of my favorite films of that year.Nonetheless, the box office alone should elicit more respect.“If my statistics are correct, ‘Moana 2’ did more business than all the best picture nominees put together last year,” says Jim Morris, Pixar’s president of 21 years. “Animation is propping up a lot of the studios right now.”

Re: Moana 2
Wildwood is the only animated film I was really interested in this year. I was curious about Hoppers because Shi was involved and will see Hexed because it's WDAS, but both looked terrible. Then again, I'm keeping my mind open to Hexed for the moment, because I thought Frozen, Encanto, and Zootopia all looked terrible when I look back and loved them in the end. Who knows, but I'm not very hopeful.

Re: Moana 2
That's probably a big reason for the remake's failure--parents who probably didn't see the point of going to see a film the kids are watching over and over 24/7 at home already (to the point they're probably a little sick of it, too...
). Sort of makes me think of being in elementary school and wanting to go see The Little Mermaid re-release in the '90s in theaters (especially for the lithograph they were giving out), but my mother just pre-ordered the new VHS re-release instead.
Not that I was ungrateful, it also came with a set of 4 lithographs, just not the main one.
And with Moana, Minions 3, and Toy Story 5 all competing with one another, not shocking TS5 won out since TS is more nostalgic for the parents who choose the movie for the most part. And, tbh, The Odyssey is probably competing with those to a degree, too, since it's probably drawing a family audience and Moana coming out on bottom behind Minions 3 could have something to do with The Odyssey also being a mythical story set on the ocean.

Re: Moana 2
I think that all checks out. The failure of this movie may or may not foretell poor returns for something like the Tangled remake.
This movie was just greenlit prematurely with no consideration for what it would need to thrive artistically or commercially.

Re: Moana 2
I don't think this film was greenlit prematurely, although it may have been slotted into the calendar at a bad time of the year, and with a year or two breathing room between Moana 2 and 3. But you'd think there's at least be threee or for years beyween 2 and 3 already... 2 wasn't a cliffhanger plot or anything like Frozen 3 is intended to be. I don't think this foretells much of anything for Tangled since Tangled isn't an ongoing franchise like Moana though.
But, moreover, I don't need my posts to be fact-check policed, if that's the reason you seem to be tracking everything I post here for some odd reason (in fact I wonder if that's the only reason you may or may not have made an account here in the first place
), least of all by someone that in my eyes only posts in order to deliberately broadcast falsehood at least 80% of the time anyway rather than posting any actual opinions... But, uh, thanks for the input.
