I'm glad they're releasing it even though I know it's going to be the censored version of the film.

I really hate it that they only release a classic now if there's a remake, they really should release all of them. I guess at least if they make Maleficent 3, it'll give them a reason to finally release Sleeping Beauty, though I hope they release it as soon as possible.
There's also a potential for Hercules.

Yay!! What a lovely cover, too. Is that new artwork?

Here’s to more catalogue titles on 4K (I know this is a tie in with the remake but…)!

Yup, they announced this and The Sound of Music. I'm very happy. Fingers crossed they release Pinocchio, Fantasia, Sleeping Beauty and Mary Poppins, too.

It was a fine cover. I liked the simplistic style of it.

Stitch's head is different as well some details like Lilo's doll, the spaceship, and the plantation in the background. The rest is the same.

Thank you for the comparison! I knew it was evocative of the earlier cover art, but the differences were throwing me off.

Yea, I agree. Although I dont know why we need the censored version, that law with the dryer was only for other territories, its why the US got the real one.
Also, didn't they also change this law so it doesn't apply anymore? I could be wrong though.

But yea, its lame if this stats a trend of only releasing 4k to promote live actions. I just want Tarzan in 4k. Well, all of them really, but especially that one.

I think Sleeping Beauty's 4K is already on its way by that same company that did Snow White and Cinderella. I don't think Maleficent 3, which is still years away, has anything to do with it? TBH, I wouldn't be surprised if SB will be some time this year and it should look gorgeous if their work on the Cinderella 4K is anything to go by.

To Kyle's point, I still think (and hope) they'll buy the rights to make the Tarzan remake. That would add another property to the short list of guaranteed hits as far as remakes go. Only way they could screw it up is if they cut the Phil Collins soundtrack. Much like with the Hercules remake, they're only going to draw the crowd with nostalgia for the Disney version, which means tapping into the designs and music of the originals. If they try to play the game of changing everything, there will be nothing to differentiate them from all the other flop live-action versions of Tarzan and Hercules that have been made the last twenty years.

I will pick up this release after it comes down a tad. I like L&S more than I did years back, but it's still not in my top 20 favorites or anything, so I can wait.

I will order it together with the Wall-E Criterion release and Death Becomes Her in 4K.

I also think Sleeping Beauty will be released later this year. There was a guy on YouTube who said it would be released during the holiday season of 2024, but apparently, Disney has delayed it, because they're still working on it. I don't know if that's true or not, but it would be so great if they released it.

Noticed Amazon is using this updated stock photo:

As opposed to this one:

Could this mean that there won't be a slipcover for this after all?

I think the first pressings will be with a slipcover, and then afterwards, without. I'm expecting to see a huge sticker promoting the live-action version.

It looks like the packshot sizeweren't designed for a slipcover anyway, so considering other recent releases, it's safe to assume it likely won't come with one.

Same. I'll get it, just not at that price. Maybe when it's half that. The cover is very nice, simple and elegant

$40 for a 4K Blu-ray/Blu-ray/Digital Copy pack feels unbelievably extravagant, don’t you think? I don’t even think Disney’s other 4K releases cost that much at their release.
