Why is Cindy a Gemini? I heard Mulan was. I am Gemini though, so I would love if Cindy was!

I used to have a problem with the switching of statuses between Rapunzel and Eugene, but now I don't.

Yay Cindy took the United Kingdom!

You can also find old 90s merchandise of Jane and Meg (and Tinker Bell / Alice) under the label if you go down a Google wormhole. Moreover, Esmeralda was removed for the same reason that she was thought not to be a great role model due to her (like Meg) having a slightly more sexual touch a la Jessica Rabbit.

Right hun? I feel some of those are off. Cinderella is usually a Cancer and Mulan usually a Gemini. I am a horoscope freak so I love to match the DPs with their signs. But that's super neat you are a Gemini so if you want to be Cinderella, then maybe it works after all!

Oh okay, I still do lol.

Is Cindy your fav? It seems like it if you want to match her sign and are celebrating her winning in the UK. Does this mean the UK is your home country? Also I hope you weren't offended by my posting stats that Sleeping Beauty ended up more successful than Cinderella if Cindy is your fav. I love both movies so I'm glad both are successful overall.

Yes, Cindy is my fave. No, I do not live in the United Kingdom, I just have great respect for that place, and love that they keep up the monarchy even in this day and age. It's like a fairy tale existing today. And I was not offended that you posted Sleeping Beauty is more successful than Cinderella. I mean, I'm a little sad about it, but I am more shocked because I find Cinderella to have a more fleshed out hero and villain and a more clever ending. I also find it interesting that Aurora is the more popular princess in the world overall than Cinderella, too, since I find Cinderella to have more to her.

Cindy is lovely to feature as your fav. I always felt she had the most in common with Rapunzel because both are blonde heroines trapped in a tower (Cinderella lives in her attic tower) by an evil stepmother.

Yes UK is lovely even if I feel the monarchy is embarrassing there today outside of Kate Middleton. The current king and queen are horribly unpopular. William is a bald coot and a cheater I hear. Harry and Meghan seem to love drama more than anything else besides money.

I think Aurora is more popular because she has the most stereotypical princess look like Barbie. That's why I loved her growing up because she looked like my favorite Barbies. Cinderella's reputation was hurt because of all the anti-DP attacks from feminists. Cinderella became the face of that because she was the most popular and the face of the DPs and Disney Castles. So there was more backlash towards her and how she's a victim that little girls should not copy. But if you feel too sad, remember that every culture has a Cinderella as a story. Cinderella is the oldest fairy tale existing in ancient China and Greece so Cinderella's tale is timeless and will never be forgotten. Sleeping Beauty is much newer in comparison, not existing until medieval times.

I also agree that the Cinderella character has more depth than Aurora. But most people forget this because they don't watch these classic movies, they just remember how Disney portrays them in merch which is why Cinderella gets the most flack. I know so many little kids today who haven't seen these movies but they hate on Snow White and all the classics for existing...without even watching the movies!!

She's the obvious Mother Gothel. People have been fancasting her for ages in the fandom.

I hope this means she can be more explicitly witchy than she was in the original.

She'd be awful. Hopefully they cast Cher.

JLO would be terrible for any role in the movie... But IDK Gothel always had a terrible design considering she's supposed to be vain. Like the Evil Queen in the animated SW, she's not really that pretty... JLO is beautiful enough for what the role on paper calls for even though she looks nothing like the animated design. Just not crazy about her voice for a theatrical song.

Everybody hates her right now so I don’t Why Disney would want to work with her.
At least she had experience for the role. She absorbed Ben Affleck’s youthnesd…

Q: Are the live-action Tangled casting rumors of the three leads true?

Skyler Shuler: For those unaware, rumors have surfaced that Milo Manheim (ZOMBIES), Kathryn Newton (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania), Florence Pugh (Thunderbolts*), and Kathryn Hahn (Agatha All Along) are being eyed for the roles of Flynn Rider, Rapunzel, and Mother Gothel in the live-action Tangled remake. As of now, these are all just rumors. I personally have not seen any casting information on this project; however, it is not uncommon for Disney to have actors listed for the type of actors they want in various roles for their projects, meaning Manheim, Newton, Pugh, and Hahn are the types of actors they want but that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s who they will cast.

They list 4 actors, but only three characters. Who would they be considering Pugh for? :? Still think Cher would be the best Gothel, but she probably wouldn't be interested in this kind of project anyway, I suppose.

What a pleasant change. All four actors listed actually look like their animated characters. Disney seems to be learning from flopfire Mermaid and upcoming disaster Snow White and avoiding racewashing which has not been financially successful for them and has hurt their brand. This is a return to normalcy for them and shows Disney wants to go back to their old reputation and make billion dollar remakes again.

I wonder if newly inaugurated President Trump is responsible for this positive change, having outlawed DEI as part of his first executive orders.

They obviously mean Rapunzel

That same article explains that the teams behind movies list certain actors they like or they physically think look like their ideal actor but will end up casting another one

Happens all the time

You can make a romcon and make a casting call saying "I want someone like Anne Hathaway" without pretending to hire her, you simply want someone like her

Pugh is the same, they just want an actress who has her looks or acting style

For some reason, I was thinking of another actress as being Pufh, some brunette woman with short, curly hair. I'm not surewho it us I was thinking of. Anyway, Newton looks more like Rapunzel than Pugh.

I would love to see Mackenzie Foy as Rapunzel. In my opinion she's really beautiful and she could give us a delicate an pretty Rapunzel.
I also wanted her as Snow White but it couldn't be...

Isn't she gorgeous? I feel like the live-actions have gone out of their way to find the ugliest actresses to play the princesses as part of Disney/woke society's uglification agenda to stigmatize beauty.

Mackenzie Foy had the looks to play a princess. Would have been a superb Snow White or Belle. I don't think she works for Rapunzel though because her features are much more delicate than Rapunzel's. But Rapunzel is more cute than beautiful so casting someone like Mackenzie Foy would be a step in the right direction to making Rapunzel beautiful again. I'm not sure she has the coloring to play a blonde though.

The only remake princess who was actually gorgeous was Naomi Scott. I think everyone else has been plain to outright ugly. Some of the latest ones look more like aliens than human beings, let alone princess material.
