I'd also like to add the 'Alternate / Deleted' ending for The Little Mermaid into the mix as well; I can't find it on youtube to share though which is annoying. Having Ariel walk out of the sea, singing to Eric, would have just made the ending completely perfect for me. Singing to him that she can now be part of his world would be so beautiful, and Jodi's demo vocal is stunning too.

I really like 'The Journey' from the Rescuers. I know there are very few lyrics but I find it very beautiful and I love how the music builds.

I know they put it back in the film but 'If I never knew you' is amazing. It would be lovely if Disney re-released the soundtrack with this on but I guess that ship has long since sailed with it removed (again) from the BD release.

'Love' from Robin Hood. So cute and I think I might have it as my first dance at my wedding.

She has a gorgeous voice. Fun and Fancy Free is very underrated.

I agree, I like that as well. I mean, I think the ending is perfect without it, too, but it would be a complete circle since the latter half of the movie has been a conflict over Eric searching for the girl with the voice, and now she's there. But my other side thinks maybe it's better the way it is because he did decide to go to Ariel while she was mute (so proving he's in love with the real person rather than the dream siren with the mesmerizing voice).

Also, if Hercules does count, throw in "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)" and "Zero to Hero" as well. I loved the way they utilized the Muses in that movie.

Disney's Divinity, completely agree with you. I'm completely torn between wanting it, and the ending being perfect as it is. Does anyone have the audio anywhere at all ?

I'd also like to add 'Very Good Advice' from Alice In Wonderland to the list, along with 'Your Mother & Mine'. Both songs I love so much.

Another addition would also be the forgotten Princess anthem, 'If You Can Dream'.

It was WONDERFUL to have all the Princesses together in a song like this, and an actual good song at that. It's a shame thats it's now been forgotten by the line and is no longer featured. As we now have 4 new Princesses, it would be wonderful for them to do something of quality with all the girls together again. Would love to hear that.

But for now, I'll just be happy with 'Dream' โ€ฆ (though I really dislike Cinderella's singing voice on it, has to be said).

Ah, yes, Very Good Advice. Not my favorite, but I can kinda identify with it whenever I say or do something stupid.

Goodness, I know what I've forgotten to include; Disney scores. I think they aren't used enough at all. Even in the trailers for the home releases of their films they neglect to utilise what they already have.

Duster would have more clarity on this, but a TV stop for the Cinderella Platinum DVD (Or maybe Twist In Time?) used 'The Stroke Of Midnight' score which was just wonderful.

'Haircut' from Mulan is particularly powerful as well.

Most of them arent forgotten, but those are my favourite Disney songs (so i can finally change my bio):

1. Part of your World, + reprise duh!
2 Waiting in the Wings ( im starting to think its better than PoyW as the lyrics go deeper and deeper with each passing day)
3. Wherever I go (Hannah Montana)
4. Proud of your Boy (Aladdin)
5. The Climb (great song to gaslight yourself when life goes wrong!)
6. The View from up here (Tangled Series) (being high song)
7. Thats how you know (Enchanted)
8. Make them proud (Elena of Avalor)
9. I thought I lost u (Bolt)
10. When will my life begin (reprise)
11. First time in Forever (reprise)
12. Into the Unknown
13. Youll never Lose this love (Disney Princess Enchanted Tales)
14. Pretty Little golden princess (Disneyland Puss in Boots record (vintage! So adorable)
15. Love cant be denied (Snow Queen)
16. So close (...Enchanted!)
17. A whole New World
18. Make you proud (Tangled Series)
19. Wind in my hair (reprise, Tangled Series)
20. Ill try (Peter Pan 2)

Marked the ones that are truly underrated imo.
I always loved the "pretty little golden princess" song the pauper sang in his head. So catchy and a memorable narrative and always made me think thats how a Puss in Boots WDAS adaptation would look like in the 60s 70s Disney era. :) Also the Tangled series Soundtrack is so criminally underrated! Waiting in the Wings is literally one of the best Disney Songs of all time, yet it Fell under the radar...

Iโ€™ve been listening to the soundtrack of The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band from 1968. Another fabulous and, I think underrated, Sherman Brothers score.

Are you a big Tangled fan? You have a lot of songs from the movie and show on here.

I don't think I've heard You'll Never Lose this Love. And I haven't heard of Pretty Little Golden Princess so I will go to listen to those both now. Thanks for sharing your list and sharing some really unknown songs here, at least unknown to me.

I've seen this movie and thought it was just okay. Not as good as The Happiest Millionaire. The songs were okay to watch but I wouldn't listen to them again after watching the movie like I did with The Happiest Millionaire.

I especially love the title tune, Ten Feet Off the Ground and โ€˜Bout Time.

From the Happiest Millionaire, I really only find Fortuosity, Bye-Um Pum Pum and Letโ€™s Have A Drink On It particularly memorable, but itโ€™s a pleasant enough score.

I'd have to look at those numbers again because I can't even remember them except for the title tune. I do love the dance sequence at the very end though, where young Goldie Hawn appears.

I like Bye-Um Pum Pum, Are We Dancing, There Are Those, and Let's Have a Drink On It. But I also enjoyed Detroit and Fortuosity, plus Watch Your Footwork since the brothers were cute. Even if they weirdly disappear from the opening of the movie never to be seen again.

Also I love that John Davidson in both movies has a song all about a state/city. Detroit and then Dakota.

Well, i kinda grew up with the Tangled series, so even tho its sometimes quite flawed and annoyingly unrealistic in some parts, i really adore it! While i like I see the light and ive got a dream,ย  they arent outstanding enough to be on this list. I only truly devour Mother knows bests reprise and Wwmlb reprise. The movies Soundtrack isnt as strong, but Menken and Slater really SHINED with the bunch of songs in the series, which are far superior than the movies imo. Menken clearly knows how to deliver an I want song, and the series as countless of them. WinW is undenianly the magnum opus of the Tangled Discography. I would also include Make you Prouds reprise, equal to the main theme, get goosebumps everytime i listen to it. https://youtu.be/JmMWCq8G_00?feature=shared
The series has many more remarkable songs like "Nothing left to lose", "Crossing the line" or "with you by my side" just to name a few :thumb:

Oh youre really welcome! :D Im Glad ur interested in hearing those!. I think i put youll never Lose this love too high on here, now its #19 and everything that was previously under it goes one position up ig, because i can devour beginning to end from most songs here, while i only truly deeply admire YNLTLs beautiful Chorus, the verse sounds kinda off.

I think its still kinda dumb how the millers son has this one beautiful song of asking himself if the princess would still love him if she found out he isnt some prince, but then it doesnt matter at the end as the rightful owner of the kingdom gets killed by Boots so he can continue faking his royal lineage.
But thats prototype Aladdin for ya! :goofy:

But the song itself is so loveley and sounds so romantic (my favourite part is when he sings she has "laughing eyes" and the piano is getting gently tapped playfully, as if shes blinking her eyes). Its probably my favourite Disney love song and im ashamed i forgot to include it in the love song rankings. Thats sadly the closest we will ever get from a Disney animated PiB adaptation as the character is already associated with Shreks Puss (but i dont mind it too much as I adore that Orange cat!)

I never watched the show. It came out when I felt I was too grown up for Disney so I was over it. I agree with you on both reprises. They're both way better than the rest of the songs on the soundtrack and feel the most like classic Disney/Broadway. I'm gonna have to check out the series songs then since you rate them so highly. The Make You Proud song reprise reminds me of Aladdin's Proud of Your Boy. I wonder if Alan Menken was inspired by that song to write this because the message seems similar but of course way more dramatic and powerful. Is Mandy Moore still the voice of Rapunzel in the series? I can't stand her voice because I feel she's just playing herself and doesn't sound like an authentic Disney Princess like the Barbie Rapunzel does. I only like Rapunzel's song from Sofia the First and I learned it's because Mandy Moore didn't voice her there. Apparently she did the speaking voice but didn't do the singing voice which is why all these years, I loved her song, Dare to Risk it All, without realizing why. I'll check out the rest of the songs you listed.

Just listened to Pretty Little Golden Princess and it's really quite charming. There's almost a haunting quality to it like it's unrequited love which makes sense since he worries that the princess will not love him if she learns the truth about him. Now I wish Walt Disney had made a Puss in Boots movie with this song. Thanks for letting us all know about it because unless you grew up with this record, you probably wouldn't know it exists. It would rank amongst the best Disney songs as a true classic so what a shame it didn't get its chance to be part of a movie. I do think it's strange that the Puss in Boots record ends with the princess never learning that her love is not really a prince. That would probably be changed in a real adaptation. And yes, I did get Aladdin vibes. I feel like it could easily be reused for Aladdin in supplemental material as a song he songs about his feelings for Jasmine before Prince Ali (reprise) but after A Whole New World.

Thank you for the You'll Never Lose this Love song. That's not Paige O'Hara right? It doesn't sound like Susan Egan either. I don't know who the voice is but I think I find it jarring because it doesn't sound like Belle to me. Whereas Angela Lansbury's voice immediately makes me recognize Mrs. Potts. I like her part of the song but whenever Belle sings, I feel like a stranger is singing instead.

Yeah the whole original cast returns! Unfortunate that u dont seem to like her voice, always found her voice kinda pretty, especially for a Disney Princess. Not that i dont like the older ones, but they sounded more direct or commercial like Ariel, while Rapunzel sounds more raw and authentic imo.

Yeah its a shame it went under the radar and is mostly forgotten, since its so beautiful. Any early Disney movie feauturing that song would have easily put it up there next to Someday my prince will come, Dream is a wish your heart makes or Bear necessities. Way better than those songs.

Yeah apparently the whole original Beast cast reprised their roles, with Paige Ohara still voicing Belle, just not the singing part. There was only this song and a trailer released before it got never released due to poor sales of the previous Enchanted Tales DVDs. https://youtu.be/FV7rqn2jjZ0?feature=shared (trailer). They even planned a third one with Cinderella and Mulan.

And nope, but my mom had one of those as a child in the 70s 80s which she lost back then so i looked it up for her like 4 years ago and stumbled upon other disney audiobooks like this one that i found interest in as they were fairytales Disney has never done before like Hansel Gretel, Rumplestilskin, Red Riding Hood etc that feel like actual blueprints for their potential animated counterparts.
I think its so remarkable how Disney has never managed to get through with those adaptations giving that they are one of the most famous ones ever! Would have loved a Red Riding hood being made in the Renaissance era, 2000s or 2010s. But not in that moment, they would waste its potential or would change its core beats drastically
