This is such an uninspired marketing campaign. If you're copying everything from the 2002 movie, at least do it right. The reason why those four inter-Stitch-ials were memorable and fun it's because it was Disney poking fun at itself, which was previously unheard of. You had this (what initially appeared to be) very un-Disney protagonist wreaking havoc all across the established Disney universe and it caught people's attention. For the live-action advertising campaign to have the same level of impact in 2025, they needed to go bigger. Stitch should have been invading Star Wars and Marvel posters/trailers, not Moana's or The Lion King's (again)

. Hell, do a Deadpool and Stitch clip and the tickets will sell themselves.
And Stitch's "live-action" design doesn't really work in live-action. He's an obvious CG alien character planted in a realistic environment. In the original movie, Stitch was initially thought to be a weird-looking dog, so incorporating some characteristics of Earth pets into his design should have been a no-brainer. The Sanders-design works splendidly for the 2D world where all the characters are basically constructed of round shapes, so a round fluffy alien isn't that unbelievable.
