A snippet of "Milele," the song performed by Anika Noni Rose's character, can be heard in the latest Japanese TV spot. This other snippet might be from it as well. The full song will premiere this Sunday during ''The Wonderful World of Disney: Holiday Spectacular.''

Well, ANR being in this and having a number of her own is at least one thing to look forward to. I know I'm going to watch this at least once, but I don't really have any excitement for it. I think I'd have been more interested if they'd done Simba's Pride next rather than a prequel.

Well, only 3 more weeks left.

Maybe I’m naive to think this, but I really have a lot of faith this movie will be good and blow people away in terms of quality, unlike the 2019 remake which had no sauce.

Apparently, Disney is submitting two songs from the film for awards consideration, "I Always Wanted a Brother" and one we hadn't heard about yet titled "Tell Me It's You." I'm surprised "Milele" is not one of the chosen ones. It seemed to me it was the one they were going to promote. "Tell Me It's You" might be the ballad Lin-Manuel talks about in this new interview:

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is "very proud" of a ballad he's written for the Barry Jenkins-directed movie Mufasa: The Lion King.

The 44-year-old composer has written the soundtrack for the upcoming Disney prequel and wanted to pen a song that lived up to the standard of Sir Elton John's Can You Feel the Love Tonight? from the original Lion King and Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson's Beauty and the Beast theme.

And he thinks he's managed to hit his target.

"There is a ballad that I'm as proud of as anything I've written," Miranda told The Times newspaper.

"The Disney ballad collection is an intimidating set of tunes.

"I'm very proud of my entry into the canon, but that might not be at all what people take away."

I gotta say This song is so soothingly strong that I’m utterly shocked Disney didn’t submit this in the songs of Mufasa: The Lion King they chose to submit for the awards circuit, which I feel is a disrespectful L of a choice towards Anika after all she’s done for The Walt Disney Company on Disney’s part that I hope they change course on ASAP and submit it for the awards circuit as soon as they can.

I also hope Disney doesn’t further disrespect the legacy of the Disney Princesses Tiana and all that Anika has brought to the character along with what the character has brought to Disney and that they further respect her moving forward by turning her Paperman-style animated Disney+ series Tiana into a fully theatrical, fully 2D/hand-drawn animated film sequel to The Princess And The Frog for a theatrical release on Thanksgiving Weekend 2029, which I hope they title it as “Tiana: Princess of Maldonia and the Frogs,” in the wake of the success of Moana 2 after it was turned form a Disney+ series into a theatrical movie while being worked on at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

We’ll see…

I think it's very beautiful. Though, we still haven't heard "Tell Me It's You;" perhaps that one's even better. They could submit both, but maybe they think the two ballads could cancel each other out.

By the way, the soundtrack tracklist has been revealed. Here are all the song titles and who performs each of them:

Apparently, there are six songs by Miranda and one by Lebo M. We heard a bit of "We Go Together" (which is sung by Mufasa, Taka, Sarabi, Zazu and Rafiki) in one of the trailers, but there are still three songs we haven't heard at all; "Tell Me It's You," which seems to be a duet between Mufasa and Sarabi, the villain song by Kiros and a Taka/Scar solo. Also, it looks like Keith David, who voices Mufasa's father, sings in "Milele" along with Anika Noni Rose.

Man it really stings hearing Milele was the favorite new song of the movie for Barry Jenkins and Lin-Manuel Miranda yet Disney still won’t submit it for Best Original Song in the Awards Circuit

Lin-Manuel Miranda was on GMA and Live with Kelly and Mark. He also posted some lyrics on Instagram, most likely from "Tell Me It's You." And here are the lyrics of "Milele," for anyone interested.

It says there the film has seven new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, so I guess I was mistaken and Lebo M. didn't write "Ngomso" but just performs it.

Even though I know they voiced Tiana and Facilier, I hadn't noticed the reunion there. It's interesting that they have a duet here.
