Why is Disney hiding the trailer from us?

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
If Disney wants this movie to have a chance at least, they REALLY need to supervise Rachel Zegler.

@Pokennbinary: Not sure who the act is for. Anyway, this forum is apparently relevant enough for you to feel the need to bombard the place.
I watched the trailer again last night. I go back and forth on the Queen's costume. At times I like it and the glassiness of it all, but in other shots I'm not too crazy for it. I like the original song. Still, it's very unbelievable imagining the Disney version of SW leading a battle against the Queen (and how does that work with SW being cursed to sleep by the Hag anyway?). If they were going to steal that idea from the other LA takes on the tale and try to hamfist it into the animated film's story, they should at least have had SW'S "army" be a bunch of woodland creatures.
At least making it a little ridiculous in that way, the concept wouldn't feel as silly existing in this version.

Apparently, the new trailer (or A new trailer) drops today, per Daniel RPK on his Patreon.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Huh. It’s the same one, only they slightly changed Gal Gadot’s Evil Queen pronouncing “opinionated.”
Also, here’s a new promo for the movie and new trailer where you can hear the new rendition of “Heigh Ho” being faithful to how it was in the cartoon in terms of the same pitch the Dwarves sing the song in the original cartoon: https://www.instagram.com/stories/disne ... FiNTFrYWg0.
Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
Did they bring someone else to dub the queen because of her accent???
Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
I am so tired of the SW mess already. What have they done?

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
I was just looking at the comments all over social media for the trailer and the poster, and wow, they don't disappoint.

Wow, in just a matter of hours, the trailer was ratio-ed into oblivion. By the way, here's the poster in high quality.

Not surprised.
I ended rewashing the trailer several times just over just to hear the song. I really like it and all the shots of the Queen. I like Gadot's peddler woman, too.

I like disney and pixar and this is the only forum alive, reddit doesn't have a relevant disney sub and twitter is not a forum itselfDisney's Divinity wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2024 2:16 am @Pokennbinary: Not sure who the act is for. And honestly I don't use this forum that much, only when there's news or a movie came out

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
I sort of sucked myself into a wormhole watching the song portion of the trailer on a loop.
Pretty song, with P&P I knew there would be at least a little something to look forward to. I love how the Queen's costume in the shot of her ordering the guards to find Snow White turned out--particularly how they incorporated the peacock look of the throne into it and how the crown has this very jagged Sauron-esque look to it. Gadot looks like a wolf who wants to taste blood in that shot, she's perfect. Love the recreation of her on the stairs. The costume I hate is the turquoise / purple one ( when she says, "You were saying?"), that and the new take on Snow's scullery maid rags.
I also liked the shot of Snow twirling down the garden path. Holding my breath--after all I was impressed by Eric's actor in TLM LA despite not being excited at the choice--but I think this might be the first miss they've had with the princes for me. Charming, Phillip were both much better in the remakes, Aladdin and Not!Shang were both close to equivalent for me, Eric and Beast were both fine (not so much a match looks-wise, just they played the roles well-enough), but The Prince was the only one of the Walt era I kind of liked, so it's sad to see the role altered so completely. Maybe if they have a shot of them in the end at some kind of coronation, they could have a blue outfit there like the animated character.

I don't like the song at all. They all sound the same since Frozen.

Ouch

But one upcoming release, March’s live-action “Snow White,” has been dogged by expensive reshoots and controversies related to star Rachel Zegler’s social media posts. The actress declined to take down a tweet thread that promoted the $240 million movie with a “free palestine” postscript but did apologize for a “**** Donald Trump” and “May Trump supporters … never know peace” Instagram post. Wading into divisive issues, as Zegler has done, isn’t part of Disney’s new playbook.
— Tatiana Siegel, Variety
And to think, all of this could have been so easily avoided, if she would have just kept her mouth shut. Or at least, express her opinions like a civilized human being.

I agree. The same style of music, and basically the same lyrics.

Re: Snow White (Live-Action)
"Waiting on a Wish" is another pop-sounding, female empowerment ballad that can be used completely independently from the musical it was written for. It's Pasek & Paul's bread and butter. Pasek & Paul are the opposite of Howard Ashman. Howard prided himself on not being, as he put it, a "June, moon, spoon" type of songwriter. When studio executives wanted him to change "Suddenly, Seymour" to Suddenly, Someone" so they could push the song on the radio, he vehemently refused.
Pasek & Paul are not ideal musical material. They have trouble writing for character and context or adapting their style and sound depending on the assignment. This results in their work sounding similar and feeling interchangeable. You can never tell the time period or the setting or the genre of the film their songs are supposed to belong to. You could easily pluck "Waiting on a Wish" out of Snow White and put it in The Greatest Showman or Dear Evan Hansen and it would fit right in.
Having said that, their songs are admittedly catchy. Unlike other similar-type songwriters in this space, they can consistently produce memorable, albeit familiar, tunes. That's why they've been so successful.

I absolutely agree with what you wrote.
When I heard the song, it felt to me like a song that Disney might have released for the Princess franchise in the mid 2000s - early 2010s.
This song is a good example of what I mean:
