Okay.....Who is going to Disneyland for the 50th?

Post by TheZue »

Papa bear's thread about his honeymoon reminded me that I wanted to ask this. It looks pretty cool! The castle is getting restored, the matterhorn que is getting redone, everything is getting painted, so basically the park should look GREAT next year.

Here are some pretty good pictures of what is going on right now: http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al091604a.htm

I'll be going down with my family and some friends in May! I can hardly wait:D:D:D

I will be there for sure. I went to Disneyland for spring break this year, but a lot of things were closed or covered up. I'm anxious to go on the revamped Space Mountain and see all the park decorations and shows. It will be the perfect graduation celebration.

I'm going to renew my annual pass this January, so yeah, I'll be going more than once in 2005. I can't wait for Space Mountain to re-open.

I plan to be there on July 17th--the actual 50th celebration. Does anyone know if tickets are on sale yet?

I wish ever so much I could go, but I very much doubt it will be happening.

I'm going!!!!! My first time to Disneyland, though I went to WDW in 2000. I think this 50th Anniversary thing will really be fun. I heard from a few friends that alot of the rides are closed currently for renovating. I polly would be able to go in May for the opening ceremonies, but considering most of the good rides will still be closed for a few more weeks, summer just seems like a better time. :D

Space Mountain should be open again by then, but I've heard some rumors that it won't be open again until November :( I've been dying to go on that again...last time I went it had just closed, and the time before that I was pregnant so no fun rides for me. It just gives me an excuse to go back in 2006 :D

I would love to go to disney for its 50th but sadly can't. I've never been and i honestly don't think i would like it as much as Walt Disney World, however it is such an important moment in the history of Disney and i would love to see it. After all its thanks to Disneyland that today we are getting films like Pirates of the Caribbean. Sometimes i get the feeling that people take Disneyland and Walt Disney World for granted and they don't realise just what great places they are. People think of them as just somewhere to go on vacation. After all Disneyland was the first of its kind it was in some ways revolutionary, perhaps even more of a risk to build than making snow white.

Well I'm hoping to go for my 2nd WDW trip of '04 in a few months, and then I really want to make my first trip to DL sometime next year. There's about a 50/50 chance at this point.

Well hell, if I lived in California, I sure would. But seeing as I'm stuck in the Frozen North - and seeing as a trip to a Disney amusement park costs an arm, a leg and your firstborn child - I highly doubt it.

How current and accurate does the Disneyland Refurbishment Schedule on the official site tend to be? I want to be able to go during the anniversary celebration AND go on all of my favorite rides.
