The duet between Marsden and Menzel called "Enchanted" has finally been leaked! Both the whole song as a demo as well as the part of the song that was filmed!
I'm not going to post them here in case Disney is watching, but if you want them, just let me know and I'll send you the link in a private message.
So someone online reconstructed the original ending, using the same leaked footage (which sotiris has gracefully offered)... the song is clearly a demo, but it kinda works with the footage:

Uhh interesting! Yeah Broadway Icon Idina Was robbed of her singing moment, but now that ive seen it, its a fine decision! They got enough focus on the Finale and it would be weird for Nancy to act like Giselle out of nowhere, so her spending years and getting disneyfied was a more proper way to make her break into song like in the sequel. Also the song is catchy enough i guess, but not on par with the rest of the great Soundtrack, and Ever Ever After is 1000ร better for an End Credit/ Finale song imo

I'm glad they went with the version we got, but why did it take this long for this to get released even as an extra? Like, what possible reason could they have for hiding this?
Idina's part is great, but what I find weird is how much better the build up is compared to the chorus. I guess alan menkin's part would have been the two of them singing together, and the real thing would have sounded way better, but even still, it just kind of takes a nose dive after her bit here.

While the cut song is very catchy and memorable, I agree it was for the best it got replaced. Ever Ever After is a better fit for the role of the pop song that plays over the epilogue montage. However, I do believe that a reprise of True Love's Kiss between Edward and Nancy would have worked beautifully in that moment before jumping into the finale.
Now if only would somebody leak Narissa's cut song!
Hey, I actually thought the demo was beautiful! If it was sung by Nancy and Edward or a pop star, I think it would be great! But yes, I also think Ever Ever After was the better choice. Weird we all feel that way. And yes, Disneynerd, it makes more sense for Nancy to sing after she has been in Andalasia. Her singing was so jarring!
It kept bugging me on my first listen because I couldnโt place it, but Idinaโs first verse sounds a lot like Audreyโs first verse in โSuddenly Seymour (Reprise)โ.
I had seen a couple of those before. I distinctly remember thinking how nuts it was that Angela from Bones was nearly in this movie. Like, she gets a snapshot during the "Ever After" sequence, but she almost had actual dialogue.
Most of them weren't heavy losses since they were just filled-in blanks (e.g. Pip running across the street in the hamster ball) from larger sequences that ultimately benefited from the streamlining, but the one that I do kind of wish we'd seen was that little snapshot of Robert just before he goes to the ball where his boss is telling him not to get too excited and that the fairy-tale ends when he goes back to work Monday. I'll admit that the interaction itself feels a little contrived, like I can't totally imagine a scenario in which my supervisor would care about what I'm doing on my weekends like that, but I do like seeing Robert's circle pushing back against him as he tries embracing the happily-ever-after side of life. It creates a more charged character arc for him.
I love this song but oh my gawwd this sounds awful lol. The Instrumentals are wayy too loud and distracting and the long ever ever afteeeeeeeeer at the beginning with no background vocals to fill the awkward pauses...
Atleast the final one is flawless. Literally not a single bad song for this movie

I saw the original video because I didn't watch it since the movie release and the only thing that I don't like about it is the design that they made for the animated Carrie. Her chin looks really weird and it made me remember this Family Guy's chapter where they made a joke about Reese Witherspoon's chin.
Here's the original source for that news. In the same interview, he said his favorite Disney prince is Prince Phillip from Sleeping Beauty.
James Marsden wrote:Idina Menzel is a close friend of mine. We've sort of been talking about maybe doing some sort of Enchanted spin-off thing where it's just the two of us which should be fun. She's like 'You gotta do something with your voice!' So, we'll see.
