I don't know the concept art from the Haunted Mansion were even more hardcore than the stuff put into the mansion.I mean there is a voodoo burning for petes sake and a picture of a man's head as a trophy.Or that demonic cat creature that I believe was orginally going to be the antagonist.I mean I think Mr.Disney himself could be macabe when he felt like it.Disney Duster wrote:Like everything Disney, Walt always made a certain kind and "safe" and "clean" kind of horror, so that should at least be what this book is/how they make this movie.

Update!
Source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-v ... eys-414344Disney’s adaptation of the acclaimed Neil Gaiman kids novel was being developed as a stop-motion project to be directed by Henry Selick. But last summer the project was put six feet under when the studio and Selick parted ways over scheduling and development.
In a new twist, Graveyard has now been reconfigured as a live action movie and sources say Ron Howard is in negotiations to direct.
This would have been perfect for Selick.Sotiris wrote:Update

Ron Howard is the director of The Dilemma.. kill me now!
I'm not overly familiar with his work but from what I'm seeing, we is just an "ok" director and in the last 10 years has directed only one good film (based on Rotten Tomatoes' reviews)PatrickvD wrote:The Dilemma was awful indeed. Ron Howard is long past his creative prime.

What is Selick doing now? I'm still stuck on the news that he was workign on several projects but I recall Shadow King (?) was selved. Did we know anything else besides those 2?

Re: The Graveyard Book
The project has been revived. Sean Bailey said it's part of their upcoming live-action slate. It's probably going to be their next original, theatrical, live-action film after Artemis Fowl.
Source: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/ ... ng-1169170Q: What is your live-action strategy otherwise?
Sean Bailey: There are projects like Jungle Cruise. We tip our hat to the [Disneyland] ride in a couple of places, but it's a wholly invented new story and a hoped-for series of movies. We're making Artemis Fowl with Ken Branagh, which is obviously a book series but hasn't been on the screen. The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman is something we're excited about.

I hope the reworking isn’t disastrous like Artemis Fowl was after Weinstein was fired.Sotiris wrote: ↑Thu Sep 05, 2024 12:06 pm Disney Pauses Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Graveyard Book’ Adaptation in Wake of Sexual Assault Allegations
