Depending on the amount of camp element and how outrageously it sucks, this could become a cult film. We in the gay community might certainly embrace it then...

I hope not.... it needs to die a quick death and be relegated to the dustbin of Disney history, like most of their botched live action remakes.

Possibly, but I think more likely it will be a "Cats" situation where people will just want to watch it burn from a safe distance.

I don't think any Disney remake is ever going to be successful anymore. Snow White has had so many adaptations that there really isn't any point in this movie and I don't really see people becoming more interested in this.

What's next? Lilo & Stitch? Hercules? Neither will make more than The Little Mermaid.

It is not going to make a good box office. People are not happy with Rachel and with all the interviews that she made. I also have the feeling that it is going to look cheap and the dwarfs are going to be really weird. The little mermaid is going to look like a successful movie compared with this one.

And yet, the live action little mermaid is actually overall (mostly) Successful :-)

The Little Mermaid was a good movie. I actually enjoyed it, and even though I agree with others about the problems it has, it was mostly a fun movie. Snow White looks like it's going to be a disaster. I do wonder why we heard nothing about it so far...

I wouldn't say that The little mermaid was a succesful movie. Disney didnt't earn much money with it. People hated Halle as Ariel without even watching the movie and she was polite all the time. She loves the character and never talked bad about the animation movie and even with this attitutde she received too much hate. Rachel talks bad about the original Snow, all the stuff that has been seen in the movie looks cheap, people are not happy about a latina Snow white because she's not white and they are also tired because Disney changed lot of things in the movie.
It has all the ingredients to be one of Disney's biggest flops. Maybe I'm wrong but I think that it's going to be a few weeks in theaters and it's going to be removed to be released directly in Disney+

Or it could just be the continuation of the reshoots that started before the actor’s strike.

I thought they gave up on the bandits and decided to go with terrible CGI dwarfs.

No, they're having both. The bandits are part of Jonathan's squad. He's a Robin Hood-type character and they function as his Merry Men. The dwarfs are part of Snow White's crew. They wanted both characters to have a seven-person posse. That's too same-y, if you ask me. Makes Snow less special. It's the new trend in live-action remakes, I guess. Like with The Little Mermaid, where they gave Eric the traits of Ariel to make them more similar. In my opinion, that doesn't make a relationship appear deeper, just more shallow. It gives off the impression the protagonist is a narcissist who's in love with themselves, essentially. I'm sure Snow White and Jonathan will bond over their love for social justice and whatnot.

In college my psychology book said the best relationships are usually when people have a lot in common. I don't think that's narcissistic.

If Disney's Cinderella remake had changed Kit from a prince into, let's say, a servant who was abused by his step brothers and step dad, would you consider his romance with Cinderella better and more believable because they would have more things in common?

The reshoots are a continuation from the one last year that was halted due to the strike.

Ella and Kit shared the same countenance, values, and philosophies. They also bonded over the fact that their mothers were both dead, and both believed their mothers know each other in Heaven.

It's totally fair to have similarities with one's partner. It doesn't make it narcissistic. Watching "Pride and Prejudice" now as I work, and Jane Bennett and Charles Bingley are a perfect match according to her parents, stating "I am sure they will do well together. Their tempers are much alike. They will be cheated assiduously by their servants, and be so generous with the rest. They will always exceed their income." This could describe Ella and Kit as well.

I've also heard that similarities is usually better long-term than opposites attract-type relationships where there is more conflict. I don't think it's that big of a deal here since we don't really know what the Prince's personality was like in the original. Same with Prince Charming in Cinderella Of course, Ariel and Eric were more opposites-attract in the original film, but I don't think the remake wiped out their opposite traits entirely, although they are more similar there.

Sotiris, no, I would not have liked Kit to be a servant with an abusive stepfamily, but as tsom and Divinity pointed out, that's not the kind of stuff a relationship needs to have stuff in common. They could just have common interests, and values and beliefs. I know that is what I have always wished for a relationship for myself, to have someone who really liked Disney and magic and stuff. I would be open for a total surprise in falling in love with a man who was not like that, as I actually have in the past, but I'm not even sure if it's love since that man does not love me and I wonder if I even could want him in the long run since he is not the type of fairy-tale-loving guy I have always wanted. Anyway, I actually did like what they did for Ariel and Eric's remake relationship as well as Ella and Kit's. Thank you tsom and Divinity for helping me with my argument!

The reshoots might have been pre-planned, they’re definitely making use of them too re-work this thing completely.

The backlash is strong and Disney has its back against the wall.
