Did the Ursula thing ever get released? I remember I bookmarked it back when you posted about it and then would check on it from time to time, until the page didn't work anymore and even searching for the title / author never showed anything? I feel like I checked once in the past six months even (just a random memory of it popped in my head one day) and still couldn't find anything. I thought it must've been cancelled for some reason.

I wanted to write something about The Lion King because there are news about the sequel, but figured this thread is more appropriate.

The best continuation they could have done to the original Lion King is making a Lion King themed "Fantasia" with the music from Rhythm of the Pride Lands back in the '90s. Now "He Lives in You" will forever be associated with the mediocre sequel.

I mean, the Broadway show is wildly successful and has probably had more lasting exposure than the DTV sequel, so people have definitely had the chance to connect "He Lives in You" to the stage.

But I think that a "Lion King" Fantasia sounds like a fascinating idea.

That's a lovely logo, incidentally.

I wonder if there are other takes where he doesnt?
Apparently there's gonna be a version on Disney plus, so hopefully they are able to get a good one. He does sound great though.

Shame about the young simba performance though. oof.

People are complaining too much about North West as Simba. Other people try to deffend her saying that she's only a child.
She's a child that get a role without talent only because her mother paid for it. I don't know how Disney let this happen. Associate your brand with the Kardashian family is one of the worst thing that you can do. I don't know how other brands colaborate with this gangster tastless family.

That North West performance is one of the most hilarious and simultaneously saddest things I’ve ever seen.

She's so talented...she should be playing Simba in Broadway. With the amazing look that she wore and everything.

Someone pointed out something funny to me.

North West might be the perfect person to play the part.
Like Simba, she's singing about being entitled to a role because of who her parents are rather than her own merritt. I'm sure this wasn't the intent, but it's funny that it worked out that way.

Isn't the kid like 10 years old?

The internet's whole conversation on this is giving me "let's nominate this 12-year-old actress for a Razzie and call it accountability" vibes. It's time to move on.

People generally aren't hating the kid, they are hating that the kid was given an opportunity that much more deserving kids should have gotten instead just because of her parents being rich/famous.

As for moving on, it happened what, a week ago? If people are still focusing on this in a month or so, yea, you can tell us to move on.

That's cool, although it'll be hard to beat the 3d release I was able to see when they released that one. For me thats the new definitive way to watch the movie.

Now that I bought a vr headset I can watch it again at home.

Is there a VR set you can connect to a Blu-ray player?

Now that’s one Disney rerelease my boyfriend and I will see, assuming it’ll come to our area. He’s never seen it. (He’s not an animation fan. He took his niece to Finding Nemo back in the day.... and fell asleep 😴. He claims he never found out if Nemo was found or not.)

I HAVE gotten him to love the parks at least, so that’s something I guess...

You should try getting him to watch Aladdin. In my experience even people who don't care about Disney usually like this film.

Good idea, Farerb. I love Aladdin! The 1992 film; I don’t see live action remakes of Disney animated classics.
