Iger also said that a bust of Trump was being prepared for the Hall of Presidents attraction at Walt Disney World.
That sure won't incite any vandalism. :P

Wnen I first read the headline, I facepalmed, too. But Iger is a Democrat, and the group is nonpartisan. He could be a voice of reason...

Yeah, Bob Iger supported Hillary Clinton's campaign. This meeting appears to be one with many CEOs to voice their opinions and concerns. Iger was involved with a similar get-together when Obama was elected.

I bet Iger uses this as a spring board to get into elected office for himself. He's mentioned political aspirations after his time at Disney before. When I first read this news, that was the first thing that came to me. I don't have too many other thoughts on this past that, except that I'm always a fan of nonpartisan groups. Hopefully good things come from it.

Yeah, I saw that the other day. Can't say I'm much impressed with him considering he hung on through a crapload of other horrors.... Just saying.

Yeah it's kind of disturbing that he was in there for as long as he was. President Bannon's travel ban should have been the moment to jump ship for Iger.

Or that disturbing, totalitarian, dictator-like, horrific inauguration speech. How bizarre to be witnessing the decline of America by Russian force as well as a power-shift to China and potentially the EU.

I wonder what corporations like Disney will do when things get even worse (they will).

And yet I have to wonder, would you be as proud of him for standing up for his beliefs if you didn't agree with them? In my experience, when people say this when talking politics, they really mean they like that someone did something they liked and agree with. No pride or respect in disagreement, especially these days.

I still argue that Iger is just jockeying for his post-Disney future where he plans on running for elected office. It's all calculated efforts at this point to put him wherever he decides to try to end up. He could be bold enough to try a run for the White House right out of the gate, but I feel he'd be wiser to do something on a city or state level first.

If it is a belief that isn't going to hurt someone else, then I do feel that people should stick up for what they believe in.

I am totally fine with peaceful protesting. And I believe in equality. I don't agree with hypocrisy.
To each his own. I just don't want people getting hurt (physically, mentally, etc.) no matter what the situation is.

(I edited this down. I don't want for this to become a political fight on a Disney forum. 'Don't talk about politics and religion' is a good piece of advise to keep the peace. I always enjoy reading your posts, and I'm not one for drama..)
